Buying versus renting is a debate for many and earlier on renting was a better bet when it came to determining monthly costs, care and cost of family and especially one’s credit score. However, now buying is winning in majority of the debates.
It’s a good season for home re-sales due to the low housing prices though there is an increase (even if ever so slightly) in the home values which is good for appreciation. It includes broken down statistics, graph and city/state buy versus rent chart…. all pointing to improvements for those first time home-buyers and those currently renting who have thought about (or will now being thinking about!) buying a home:
Trulia’s report states, “It is now cheaper to buy than to rent in 98 of the 100 most populous metros – including (shocker!) pricey places to live like New York, Los Angeles and Boston.”
This is good news for us Real Estate Agents. There are many an individual who have wanted to buy a home but for various reasons it was just “safer”, “smarter”, “cheaper” to rent…. not anymore. It’s home buying time and we need to spread the word with these facts and stats to everyone out there. Friends, family, co-workers and even strangers need to know: It IS a economically better to buy a home and thus a good investment for future care of family, tax write-offs, pride of ownership and ability to create a real home.
