I have blogged so very little this year. Frankly, that's a good thing for me. It means that I"m not depressed or suicidal, but I am ready to pull my hair out of my head because of all of the bsiness that I'm dealing with right now. In the process of bulding and growing, I'm getting deals and sending deals. A couple of recent transactions made me think to myself.....
DO YOU REFER OR DO YOU ENDORSE?
First, there's a huge difference between the two. A referral is someone who is sent to from one party to another. I get referrals, but I love endorsements. Endorsements, to me, are special because, they are putting their name to it.
I can't stand when people say here's three lenders, I like them all. That's a cop out. As an attorney, which has malpractice, and as a lender, I need to refer to the best. This year, alone, I've referred 10 purchase contracts to referral partners. I also referred one to new agents who get it. As a result, a bond of trust has been created where the borrower is ensured top flight service.
I tell my borrowers..."listen, if you've valued the service you've received so far, then you need to work with Susie Q at Superstar Realty. I think that this is my ultimate beef. If you're the best at what you do, you probably work with the best and you need to ensure a smooth transaction for your client, right?
Take charge...be the professional. Love life and build around your reputation and great name. Thinking of it inversely, I don't want my transaction mired by some two-bit hack. Nor should you!
For me...it's endoresment, endorsement, endorsement. My business has found a new level this year and I couldn't be happier.
