Special offer

Things that are worth the effort.

I've worked the past 7 days straight doing consults. The Spring market has really taken off in Burlington and Milton. One thing that has been consistent with them all, is that there are always things sellers would rather not do to enhance their home. It's too much work or they are not willing to make another investment in their home.

The changes recommended in your Staging Consult can make a big difference in how your house presents to the Buyer. They have been shown to pay back in a better offer and/or a shorter time on the market.

Here are some of the things worth doing:

A very large TV in a small room may be great for living but when you are selling, it is eating up valuable Real Estate. Make the extra effort and remove it while you are on the market.

Some sellers do  not want to invest in new lighting that they will leave behind. Some think it will be too complicated or time consuming. Lighting is a relatively inexpensive way to update a home.

Most Buyers have trouble visualizing past what it in a room. This is why it helps when you complete the picture for them.

Don't confuse the Buyer. Each space should have one clear purpose. In this kitchen the futon was removed and the light fixture was upgraded to create a dining space.

Make that last investment of time and money and reap the benefits.

Fine fotos Janice.  Simple is best.  I have suggested home staging to several clients, but they say "Oh, I can do it myself".  When I recommend a few ideas, often they create hurdles that we have to leap.

Bruce, that is why offering a free consult to your client can do wonders. They have a plan specific to their home to follow.

Thanks Valerie! I was just in a home with a TV as big as a full sofa sitting in a smallish great room ... yikes!

All great advice, Janice. Staging Consultation is the best investment that seller can make in order to sell faster and in many cases for more money.

Yes they can Brian. It's all about knowing which changes apply to your particular space.

Love these changes - small ones that made a HUGE difference in how the house shows in the photos (and certainly in real life, too).

My favorite is the last picture....futon in the dining area?  I'm so  loving the transformation!

Janice....you've shown how a simple change can have a BIG reward!  I find that most sellers welcome these types of suggestions once they are pointed out during a Home Staging Consult!

I agree Kathy. Sometimes you just have to show them one change and they get it!
