Another Red Light Moment: Urban Tulips

By
Real Estate Agent with RLAH@properties AB95346

I was on my way to the cherry blossoms.  Needed some good Friday Foto pictures.  But something happened on the way to the Tidal Basin.  It was a traffic light.

And there they were!  The season's first tulips!  Urban tulips!  And of course, my camera was on the front seat, so I grabbed it and leaned over toward the passenger side and got them.

I had much better luck at the red light than I did at the Tidal Basin.  It was bumper to bumper traffic and a sea of tourists.  Maybe I'll go back first thing in the morning for a Speechless Sunday shot!

Pat:  Just totally gorgeous.  I love tulips, but just don't get to see enough of them.  Also... what a great name for a DC blues band.  The Urban Tulips.  Playing at the Birchmere April 12 and 13th.  <just kidding>

Tulips are one of my favorite flowers.  Always enjoyed the Conservatory Gardens early in spring and the tulip display.  Beautiful!

The tulips are up in my gardens too.  And this is the third year for them.  I would have thought they would be three-lips by now.

Lovely!
I put out about 100 tulips last fall, and I am not sure the warm winter did the bulbs a great favor.  It seems that I have had about half of them blossom so far.

Good Morning Patricia, Very nice picture. Our tulips are only about 3 inches high, so we are a couple of weeks behind. Thanks for sharing. Have a great Saturday

That does indeed look like Spring to me! Tulips don't do well down here, it is just too hot.

I love tulips and have planted hundreds of them in my yard. Unfortunately, the squirrel's love them as much, if not more than I do! :(

You clearly have your camera at a ready moment a little more than I do. I would be too afraid I would have to stop quickly and would just watch it fly off the front seat.
