The Art of Gift Giving by Laura Cerrano Feng Shui Consultant
When you give a gift, give it from the heart and do not expect anything in return. A gift is about love and compassion. The Art of Gift Giving is a powerful tool and a great way to help lift a persons spirit. Go that extra mile to visit their favorite store to purchase a gift. Write a poem, create the piece of artwork or even surprise them to a special brunch or dinner. Perhaps, just show up with something silly and share some laughs. Or simply be in the moment with them.
If you give a gift and in some way you know it's going to benefit you weather it be with attention (stroking the ego) or to help bribe your way to into or out of some situation, than you may not understand what it means to give a gift. If that is the case, take a step back, ask yourself and be honest, Why am I giving this gift? Is it to show appreciation or to help this person ? or do I seek other intentions to benefit only me?
