Hello friends!

If you know me well, you know that I'm a Spring & Summer girl! I have to force myself outside if it's even remotely cold or dreary. Lucky for me, this past winter in the North Georgia/Western North Carolina mountains was a mild one and temperatures are already in the 70s (a little unusual for this time of year, but I love it!). The first day of Spring was this past Tuesday (March 20th) and folklore says "Don't say that spring has come until you can put your foot on nine daisies." Well...... it's safe to say that Spring has arrived! Yay!! It's time to play!

HERE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE SPRINGTIME ACTIVITIES

Northeast Georgia Spring Run - Blairsville, GA

Meeks Park - Blairsville, GA

Whitewater Rafting - The rafting season on the Ocoee River started on March 17th. The Ocoee River has become the most popular whitewater rafting adventure in America. Click here for great rafting companies that will make your adventure one to remember.

Patio Dining at Doyle's Restaurant - Murphy, NC. They have a fun outdoor patio for dining and entertainment with a full bar and relaxing atmosphere (inside dining & great food too). Doyle's and surrounding businesses were damaged by the recent tornado that touched down in Murphy. A fund raiser gala will be held on the patio on Thursday, March 29, 2012 with live music, food & a loving community. 100% of proceeds will go to local families who were affected by the tornado. Visit www.DoylesCedarHill.com for more information.

Hamilton Rhododendrom Gardens - Hiawassee, GA. One of the largest collections of hybrid rhododendrons in Georgia. Plants bloom from April to late May. Tour the gardens at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds on the banks of Lake Chatuge.

4th Annual Clay County RODEO - Hayesville, NC on May 25th & 26th, 2012. Come out to Cutworms Corral at 4637 Downings Creek Rd in Hayesville, NC to see cowboys & cowgirls compete in the respective events. Lots of bucking horses, thrilling bull riding & lightning fast horses, great food, lively entertainment and something for the whole family. $12 for Adults, $6 (Kids 5-10), under 5 Free.
