This photograph was taken many years ago for our stock photo agency on E-6 film. Remember film? It always reminds me of spring and how blessed we are to live in this beautiful place.

I do remember film Nancy and you set yourself apart with this fabulous shot.  Where would we be now without our digital World?

Hi Nancy,

The picture is beautiful.

I presume the superstitions is the rock formation?

Or is it the flowers?

Nancy - are the superstitions the name of the rocks in the background?

Beautiful photo - we visited Arizona (Pheonix, Sedona, Grand Canyon) a few years ago and have hundreds of photos, but none on film. Yours is a beauty - the contrast of the sky against the red rocks is stunning!

Kevin, Thanks for your kind words. Digital has changed photography and for the better but sometimes it's nice to visit our roots.

Phil, The Superstitions are a mountain range east of the Phoenix Metro area. The name was inspired by Pima Indian Legends and they are probably most famous as the home of the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine.

Carol, yes that's the name. The camera point of view changes the perspective. The brittle bush was made to look larger and the mountains smaller. This view of the Superstition Range shows Flat Iron Peak which is a popular view of the 160,000 acre state park.

Wayne & Jean, thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit, we love visitors especially from NJ. My favorite Uncle was born in NJ and lived there his whole life. I never could get him to come for a visit.

Nancy - That picture is stunningly beautiful.  As if the rocks in the background weren't enough, they are accented by the colorful golden flowers in the foreground.  CONGRATULATIONS on having this photoblog FEATURED in the Photos group!

Myrl, thanks so much! There are many beautiful images in the Photos Group and it is an honor to be featured.

Karen, the wildflowers in that part of the park are amazing, brittlebush and owls' clover and a dozen others. Of course a month from now I'll sneezing and my eyes will be red from their air born remains but for now it's all good! LOL

Nancy,

In some ways, we can't get the same pop today as we could on E6. Excellent. :)

Thanks Steve, you're right, there was a snap to film that is hard to get without some post production in digital.
