Saline, MI First Snow Fall

1st snow fallOur first snow fall in Saline, MI.  Oh, we've had a few flurries... but his is the real thing.

My son, Jamie who is going into the Navy is home and his girlfriend who lives in Tennessee flew in for the weekend. Malena was born and raised in California.

Malena is sooooooo excited. It is hard not to pick up some of her excitement. Her excitement made me think of our 1st time home-buyers, how excited they are. Even though I mostly list, I still work with a few buyers that are past clients or referrals from other agents.

Buyers are so much fun!

Our pastor just called, they are canceling church. Now that is a first for me. Apparently, he shoveled his driveway, got into the street and got stuck.

Unfortunately, we still have to get out in the snow. Allyssa is at a camp about an hour away on a one lane dirt road. Oh my, glad I have a SUV with a snow button. Snow in my backyard in Saline, MI

My two boy dogs went out, my two female dogs would not. You know what that means ??

I wish I could see Maleenas face today :-)   Is Jamie teaching her the proper way to have a snowball fight?

Missy, you are so right.  The excitement a first time home buyer feels is just like that first fresh snowfall that a person experiences.  How fitting!

BTW, my little mini-schnauzer Annie refused to potty outside.  She came in and promptly piddled on the kitchen floor :-)

Have a safe safe trip picking up Alyssa!   Mr. Bachelor just called and he is inching his way along 275.  He says it's pretty darn horrid out there!

Good morning Missy,

It's nice for you to have your son home for Christmas and his girlfriend too! She must be enthralled with the white wonderland we are experiencing lately.

Southern Ontario received many inches more snow overnight and it's snowing as we speak. It's quite pretty along the old tree-lined streets...very Christmasy, however I worry over all of the travelers this time of year.

It sounds like you're well prepared for any kind of weather...  I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season,

Jo

It's snowing again in NH. We are actually having Nor' Easter...it's cold and we have about 8 inches in the ground so far.

Enjoy playing in the snow Missy.

Missy, snow makes for a good day of blogging. :-)

What a winter wonderland you have there!  We've had a little bit here, though compared to yours it was a little dusting - and we almost never get one of those before Christmas.  So are you holding anything Open today?

Missy,

Snow has been here for awhile in Wisconsin.

My dog cannot get out of the snow. He has a hard time when I tell him it is time to come in. This 120 pound ball of sadness just sits by the window like I scolded him.

Sincerely

Tom Braatz

Missy,

We got a real bad ice storm last night...Some trees are going to suffer damage...limbs are bending to the breaking point! Thanks,   Fran

Missy--What a fun day! We were shoveling out two weeks ago...Remember that roof rake photo? Nothing since then but my teenagers were soooo excited. Just a day or two before I was with a client and her 3 year old was sticking out her tongue to catch the first flakes...Again a few hours later my teens were doing the same thing. Seeing the first flakes is magical every year...Even for big kids. A first snowfall ever is quite a treat for Malena! Makes it almost worth all the shoveling!

We missed this one...No new big snow until the weekend here!

Missy, I remember when we moved from California to NJ...we were so excited about the snow and all of our neighbors thought we were crazy!  We even made snow cones.  I guess when you are a kid and never been in snow you really appreciate how  beautiful it is and the incredible silence as it falls.

That's a lot of snow ......and you have a "listing appointment"  my my hope you don't get stuck like the Preacher did :) :)

Hi Missy,
If church had to be canceled, today would be a good day with Christmas preparations underway.  I understand Maleena's enthusiasm, we get really excited around here when we get a dusting!  We're due, did not have any at all last year.
I, too, love those first time buyers--they reinvigorate me.

Hey Everyone, Just got back from picking up Allyssa. What is normally a 45 to 1 hour trip turned into 4 hours RT. I-94 was horrible, one land, big semi jack knifed and we sat for 45 minutes. We were glad we had a full tank of gas.

Now I have to decide if I'm going to go on that 3:00 listing appointment. What to do?

Mike said he would drive me, but gee that ruins his day. I'd like to put my sweats on and do Christmas cards, and bake cookies. Why does someone want to list their house a few days before Christmas. Oh yea, they moved to Georgia and it is a great sub. So yea, I'll probably go...

On a positive note, it is beautiful, and the biggest snow fall we have had in many years. Not wet but powdery, white. Great for skiing, but who is going to drive to the slopes.

Looks beautiful! I hate to be cold, but I like to look at it! hehehehe Rosie won't go out when it snows(rarely here) or when it is raining...be safe out there today!

We have had a lot of snow so far this year...and of course the storm you just got hit here too. No doubt about it...it will be a white Christmas! Of course, I could do without the snow, the cold and winter altogether...but that's just me! ;)

Goodness....you got puppy pads?  We always keep some spare for our rainy season :)

Beautiful snow....

Ahhhh it looks gorgeous!  We are having a dreary rainy clammy Sunday here in the Metro Washington DC area.  We don't have pretty snowfalls here very often.  I really love them, except that the people around here CAN NOT Drive in the Snow.  All hell breaks loose , even when there is just a 1/4 inch.

12/16/2007 03:41 PM by Debbie Cook (Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc)

Missy, I hope you are very careful if you go out. I don't mind the snow as much as the ice, which is what we had here.  I'm happy, however, for your son's girlfriend, if you're not used to snow it is pretty magical!

Hi Missy - how fun to experience snow through someone's eyes who's never seen it!

What is a 'snow button'?  I've never heard of that before!

Missy:   I'm so glad you and Alyssa made it home safe and sound.  I'd been following WDIV traffic reports most the day and saw all the "slowdowns".  I-94 and 275 seemed to be the worst of it...did you go to your listing appointment?

12/17/2007 06:06 AM by Kris Wales- Metro Detroit real estate agent-Chesterfield Twp-Macomb County MI (RE/MAX Advantage 1, Inc.)

What a beautiful white blanket of snow, Missy! We have snow out here but for some reason it doesn't look quite like that. Glad you and your family are having fun!

Missy-Snow is pretty but I don't care for it at all.  I like to visit....and play.  I bet it sure feels like the holidays now!

12/17/2007 07:55 PM by Midori Miller-Daytona Beach Florida Real Estate Training (CENTURY 21 Sundance Realty)

Midori, lol well if it is going to be cold, I like the snow.

Michael, I know the ski resorts are estatic.

Brian, thanks it is pretty, they just got around to plowing my sub tonight.

Kris, Yes I went on the listing appointment, they have already moved and he was only in town for 2 days. I like the house and hope I get it, just sent the CMA tonight. The roads were horrible, school was out today.

Ann, I don't know, it is on my car and you push in the snow, a light comes on the dashboard and it gives you more control.

Hugh, I think some people in NC would be happy.

Rebecca, I think Hugh will send you some.

Carole, they all went sledding last night, she had a blast.

Debbie, it looked like Lenn got alot the other day.

Sally, yes I have heard of them, our female dog is sooooooooooooo embarrased and tries to chew them off.

Kelly, LOL

Irena, thanks, I'm enjoying the look.

Vanessa, my dogs hate rain too.

We are up to our ears in snow in New Hampshire.  Church was cancelled here too!  I don't know about males vs. females - but my cat was not interested in getting her paws cold!  Happy Holidays Missy and enjoy the snow!

Get a pair of snowshoes at Costco for about $60, strap them on and have some fun. It's a great way to enjoy the snow and get some exercise. The dogs will love to go too.

Missy,

How nice, a white Christmas.  We are having a very wet one.

12/17/2007 11:10 PM by Fran Gatti - Crescent City CA Real Estate (RE/MAX Coastal Redwoods)

Joan, must be a female thing.

Lee, great idea. I've never had snow shoes.

Fran, I'm sure it will still be around, 10 inches is too much to melt in a week, and it is cold.

Missy - A snow button? Gee, you guys get to have all the fun. No such luck in sunny Southern California. Beautiful pictures!
