16 Comments on Chicago weather gives me whiplash!
I've got family visiting out there for a few days and they've had no fun at all. The weather is keeping them on their toes while they try to figure out if they need to talk Michigan Ave or take a cab. We've have the same issue in CA. One day it's sunny and 75, the next it's raining and 55. Is it summer yet?
These transition seasons can be tough on one's closet.
Bryan - we're only a few days into spring... but we've had beautiful weather for the last several weeks, and some people were seduced into planting flowers in their yards... oops.
Doug - it's back to sweater weather...
Good morning Alan. I too love Chicago for all the reasons you mentioned and some you didn't. The weather.....that's another story. Be grateful, wind and snow will come your way again.
And the wind...the wind! Heck, weather's been weird all over! My son's in Anchorage with more snow than ever before...almost. He keeps sharing photos of his driveway...
Another son's in Washington and they got dumped on (and it almost NEVER EVER snows there) not so long back, and my last son is moaning about hardly any measurable snow or negative temperatures this year in GREEN BAY WI this winter. What's going on?
Here in Tucson, we got snow for Valentine's day, and last Tuesday it was all white and mid 30's...and this weekend it was 90 on my car thermometer!
And WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?? are tornados doing out so soon???
Hold on to your hats folks...Mother Nature is giving us a ride!
Whiplash or pneumonia...feel for you that you have to endure such extremes :)! Perhaps it will even out soon!
Sheila - there are many reasons I didn't list either, that make Chi-town a wonderful city.
Cara - it's definitely a bit weird out there.
Brenda - woe is me.
Love the city, from May to October after that not so much. I am very excited about my trip home scheduled for later this spring. Please make sure there is still nice weather! Thanks!
The Great Lakes can sure cause some unpredictable little weather systems, but then again, the weather seems to be a bit verkakte the world over at this point Alan. You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.
You're winter just showed up here. Brrrrr....I mean I turned on the heat. There is snow to 4000 feet (I can see the mountain from my deck). Come on...let's go back to the way it should be...me by the pool, you getting snow?
Kathy - I wish I could promise that.
Malcolm - verkakte, is it? Good thing I know what that means.
Karen - hold on... I'm still enjoying that mental image of "you by the pool".
Alan -- yes, such fluctuations can drive you batty, trying to keep the wardrobe properly positioned. We ran into that one April-May period in Salt Lake City -- every week for 5 weeks we had snow at least one day that stuck most of the day and another day that went over 70 degrees.
Oh you are tooooo sweet. And after the amount of crunches this morning, it's getting pretty darn good. ;)
Steven - it sure does mess with one's wardrobe, doesn't it?
Karen - I can imagine, it is.
It's good to know that my old hometown Chi-town is having the same vicissitudes as we are experiencing in Delaware! Enjoy the weather Alan, it never was a dependable friend!
Carolyn - the nice part about Chicago weather is that if you're not enjoying the weather, it'll change in a few minutes.
