Active Rain Week in Review - 12/25 - 12/31 - from Ho Ho Ho to Happy! Happy!

Holidays! Holy Cow! What a week! Bookended with holidays, family (and just a little business...) it was tough keeping up, there were so many wonderful posts and so many great ideas it was fun to look over the notes, bookmarks and saved files for my first week in review. Being that it's the first time that I've done this... I "appropriated" many categories and ideas from Jeff Belongers W-I-R posts last month. Thanks Jeff!

Happy Moo Year ! This was an awesome review. I read most of them but you gave me a few to read now. I can tell you took the time to read posts from everyone and that means a lot to me. For example, Neil Pender is a very good blogger and that post was excellent. Thanks for the shout out and may the force be with you and all your football teams win today :-)

I bookmarked and used Evernote to grab posts during the week... as soon as I read Renee & Scott's posts on Christmas, I knew that I was going to have some fun and I had an idea of what I wanted to do. Despite having some good ideas, I still had to look back through the weeks posts because I had missed a lot... even from bloggers that I read all of the time! I really wanted to include some newer people too.

The actual post took over 3 hours, but I had some issues with formatting.... instead of using Writely (as I usually do) I used Dreamweaver and ended up with all kinds of link problems. The details of fixing that would make your neck, back and wrist ache in sympathy...

It was great fun and a learning experience too.

Carole - It's free! Evernote Right click on any page and save to evernote. You can annotate, add comments etc... I love it. I bought the paid version.

I'm a little frustrated, though. Local (regional) content is highly encouraged and seems to get featured (or at least mentioned). I've done a couple of local content posts and seem to get buried in the dungeons. Hmmmm. Am I not grouping them right? Is it boring? What?

Your blog looks great! I didn't see it (but I would have noticed if I did) my Nana has lived in Twisp for years... so I've passed through Wenatchee on occasion! The biggest thing that you can do is make comments on other peoples posts, that's how people get to know you and look for your stuff.

Hi Angus, Thanks for the reply. I have logged 468 (now 469) comments... so it's not like I'm sitting here waiting for people to find me. I know with 12,000 members it's impossible to sort through them all. That's why it's important to be active and get noticed somewhere in the dashboard. I did make it to #19 on the dashboard for a very brief time, but now I have to settle for #14 in Washington (which has some tough competition).

Give me a call if you come through town (on your way to Twisp) sometime.

Washington is tough, but Florida is really the place for overachievers. I think it has someting to do with pink flamingos...

Adrdell - The "not Naperville' house is MIA. He pulled it off the market, it's been three weeks and the relo company called me again today wondering what's going on. I think he may be renting it, or... maybe moving back in? Anyway, he was evasive when we last spoke.
