I am a new Remax broker/owner who has just opened my first office in the Hamptons, in Southampton, NY. I will be opening two additional offices in 2007 and am so pleased with my Remax experience to date.

With an average sales price of $1.4million, we are the playground of Manhattan and also known as Hollywood East. My biggest challenge has been to attract high-end brokers/agents from the competition. Remax is not well known in NY and is brand new to the Hamptons and Manhattan. It is perceived as not being an upscale brand.  Any coaching or suggestions from any of you who have successfully recruited high-end agents would be appreciated.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

We have some agents who are moving into that market, but none that are specialists currently.  I'd suggest that you just market to those agents in the same way that's been successful with other agents. It's like high end homes-most folks are intimidated by that price range so don't recruit in it.  Wonder if those agents are even being heavily recruited?  Also would promote the Renowned Properties (or the new name) branding and the exposure in WSJ.  That's something different.

Michael, I am one of seven owners of a new office.  We are still struggling to get good agents in our office.  I'm courting a number of producing agents.  Our market is different - our average price is $140,000.  Good luck to you.
