How You Can Detox Your Business….. Here are 10 ways.

Recently my fiancé was nice enough to introduce me to the detoxing process.  As we all know this is a process to clean your body of toxins.  Don’t get me wrong there were ups and downs, but when it was over I feel great.  And I had more energy and was recharged.  This process got me thinking, can we Detox our business.  I think we can and here are my 10 suggestions for doing it:

 

1.      Get Up Early- As a realtor there is always a million things to do daily and never enough time.  Well, what about getting up 30mins early.  Can you get more done before the phone starts ringing?  I know you can

2.      Clean up Your Office- Is it a mess, clean it up.  Clean up your desk, shredded some old documents, etc.   Like the saying goes…. Your Body is a Temple.  Well so is your office, take care of it.

3.      Reinvigorate yourself- Take a moment to reinvigorate yourself.  Go back and remember what made you love this business.  Make some goals and challenges for yourself. 

4.      Take A Break-When the stress gets bad, get out of the office.  Take a drive with the windows down and the music really loud.  Getting some time for yourself will help you recharge.  And also find time for family and friends.  Your job is a 24 hours 7 days a week job, but maybe take a half day to go on a picnic with your family.  Shut off the phone.  You will love it and so will your family. 

5.      Avoid Debbie Downer- We all know this person…. “business sucks, the market will never improve, etc etc”.  Look, they might be a great person but they are hurting you.  This is not the type of person you need to surround yourself with.

6.      Learn- There is no better way to improve yourself than learning.  Read a sales book, ask a successful realtor for advice or maybe even marketing ideas.  This is the purest way to improve yourself

7.      Your Marketing- Many times we get stuck in a pattern and do not look for ways to change.  Or improve.  Look at your marketing, is it working and can you change it?  Or maybe even start thinking of doing marketing?  Measure what you are doing otherwise maybe your marketing is hurting you.  Is it costing you time, money or maybe not getting you the business you want?

8.      Fire That Client- The Fact is we all want to close every deal and get as many possible clients as we can.  But not every client is for you and vice versa.  If you have a client that is hurting your business, taking too much time…….Fire them!  This is a difficult decision to make, but look at the big picture and how it affects your business

9.      Celebrate- Take a moment to pat yourself on the back for a great job you did recently.  Treat yourself to a nice meal.  Don’t just move on to the next challenge.  You deserve a moment to yourself for a job well done

10.  Gratitude- In short, say thank you.  Take a moment to say thank you to past clients, your favorite title company, etc.  It will make them feel awesome and you!

Don’t let your business and life become toxic.  Try to Detox Your Business Today.
