Motivational Power Quote

The Chains of Habits

“The chains of habits are too weak to be felt

until they are too strong to be broken.”

Samuel Johnson 1709 -1784, English author, poet

As I see it . . . . . . .

The chains of habits

The chains of our habits can lift us to the heights of success or become an anchor that pulls us down to the depths of failure.

Habits are those things we do every day with giving much thought to them. It is said that we are doing them on autopilot.

Our good habits push us forward and become the bedrock for our success journey and the foundation to support the weight of the journey.

One of the keys to your success is to reinforce your good habits and to build on them for your future success.

One of the biggest challenges that we have in our career are those things that we do that we repeat over a period of time that turn into bad habits. They seem to start incent enough and over time take on a life of their own.

They become our bad habits . . . .

Bad habits have a negative effect on our life and career. They can move us in the wrong direction and away from our goals and become a career buster.

When we can identify the habits that are having a negative effect on our career you have take a major step forward in removing them or they will become destructive. Once you indentify the bad habit make the commitment to start to replace them with new and productive habits.

With each old bad habit that you break and replace with each new productive habit you are creating the fuel for success journey to propel you to achieve your objectives.

There is a new business book out on HABITS that I have been itching to read. It's all over the press right now.

Great quote and good advice.  It's sometimes really hard to even identify a habit, good or bad, for just the reason stated in the quote.  But to sit down and really analyze what each of our habits are and how they affect our lives, would be quite an undertaking.

Lou - Bad habits definitely have a negative outcome and can be extremely hard to break especially if a lot of time has passed.

I've heard that it takes a minimum of 21 days to have a new habit take hold.  Good or bad.

Old habits are hard to break, especially the bad ones. Why we don't notice them until they overtake us is the big unknown! Enjoy your day!
