Figure 8 Island is a gated secure northern island in New Hanover County, in Southeastern NC. It is a gorgeous mix of houses and seashore that share this small island. You must access the island from a secured bridge which requests identification for all guests. There is a road that runs north and south on the island with houses on both sides of the road with some extra locations that include culdesacs on lagoons and private water docking in their back yards. Prices on the island run from $ 900,000. to $ 6 million. Houses styles run the gamut from the old beach house of the the 50′s and 60′s to architectural wonders designed in the 70′s and 80′s and more recent construction.
You can find more modern style homes such as one built by Tongue and Groove – a local Wilmington upscale contractor who does custom finishes and gorgeous handmade cabinets. The floor plan is very current and easy for homes with children and shared families too. Local restuarants and food shopping is only 1- 2 miles from the secured bridge. You will find the traffic very light and the beaches scarcely populated. Celebrities and the famous alike find this a great getaway location.
