Here on Maui, March Madness isn't about college basketball--it's about crazy hats. Join the "madness" this Saturday, March 26, for the second annual Rotary Club fundraiser hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Kihei Sunrise, Kihei-Wailea, Valley Isle Sunset and Upcountry. The Crazy Hat Contest is only part of it.
This event will be held at Mulligan's in Wailea and from 5 to 9 p.m. you will enjoy heavy pupus and a no-host bar while bidding on the silent and live auction items. Rumor has it that there are some really amazing items up for sale in these auctions that you don't want to miss!
Music will be provided by Jimmy Mac & the Kool Kats, so you know you have to bring your dancing shoes along with those crazy hats. And when you're not dancing, you'll be amazed by Kale the Magnificent as he dazzles you with his magic tricks. And, yes, there really is a Crazy Hat Contest and you still have time to get really creative to participate.
Rotary International is comprised of business leaders who work together to improve the community. All proceeds will benefit a variety of community programs that are supported by the Rotary Clubs as well as their student scholarships.
The entire community is invited to participate. Tickets are $50 and to purchase tickets or for more information, please visit their website: www.kiheirotary.org.

Janet, will you share your hat creation? I'd love to see it!
Our board did that one time would love to hear the details of putting one one for a fundraiser for our Rotary Club
This sounds like my kind of event....so much fun to see all the hat creations! I really hope you are able to share some pics for us.
Janet....you do such a GREAT blog on all that is 'happening' on Maui!! What a great way to showcase your community!
Hi Charles--please feel free to contact the local Rotary clubs here. The link above will take you to their website. They are the experts at these fundraisers.
Hi Sharon--it's funny but I never write the "after" posts. Maybe that is a new idea worth doing!
Hi Kathy--thanks, there is always so much going on here and I am a big believer in the localism posts.
Don't know where you found that hat, Janet, but it reminds me of the Mad Hatter, for sure. Thanks for a great informative post!
Hi Ron--well, that is the theme of the party. I often spend more times searching for the right photo than writing my posts! Thanks for commenting.
