  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3 sticks butter
  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 1 8-ounce package cream cheese
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • dash of lemon flavoring

Let butter and cream cheese soften to very soft.  Let eggs reach room temperature.  Cream sugar, cheese, and butter (this can be done by hand with a whisk.)  Add 2 eggs and 1 cup of flour at a time, mixing well each time one is added until all are in.  Add dash of lemon flavoring.  Grease and flour cake pan.  Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Dear Dallas,

If this is your grandmother's recipe, I know it is good stuff, as southern ladies know how to cook.  As least that is my opinion, being from Peachtree City, Georgia.  I can't wait to try this out.  Thank you for sharing!!
