We're a Relay For Life team of neighbors and friends.
We have survived cancer and
we have been caregivers to others in their fight.
We've also lost family and friends to cancer.
We Celebrate. We Remember. We Fight Back.

Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times.

Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day, cancer will be eliminated. 

The 2012 Isle of Wright Relay for Life will be held June 1st and 2nd at Smithfield High School. Please join us! The Survivors lap is at 6:45pm, June 1st, followed by opening ceremonies at 7 pm. The Luminaria Cermony will be at 10 pm Friday and the Relay ends at 9am Saturday morning. 

Isle of Wight/Surry Relay For Life Survivors Banquet is a important part of this event. This year's banquet is Wednesday, May 30th at the Smithfield Center. Invitations will be mailed to our registered Cancer Survivors and a guest to join us for this special evening. Catering will be provided by The Virginia Diner. Please encourage all Cancer Survivors you know to register with Isle of Wight/Surry Relay For Life through the web site www.RelayForLife.org/IWS. This will be a special time of celebration!

The Gatling Pointe neighborhood has 2 teams - Beacons of Hope is our adult team and Rising Hope is our kids team. New team members and supporters are always welcome.
