Have you ever wondered how to remove black mold from your home? Black mold removal is the process that you need to learn. If you allow people into your home, it is very important that you get rid of black mold. People can get sick from just entering your home and you may be up for fines and lawsuits if you do not do something about it. You can pay a company big bucks to do a mold remediation or you can follow these tips to do it yourself at home!

Fortunately, the removal of black mold is very easy to do. All you need to do is take these simple steps. For the first step, try to inspect your house and try to see if there are any damages. House damages are the usual venue for fungus growth. Once a part of your house is damaged, it can get exposed into the air which will begin the mold production process. It is in these instances that black mold removal becomes more important.

Now once you see some mold forming, it is time to remove contamination by removing objects that are near the mold. Remember that mold is like fungi and it can spread everywhere. You can prevent contamination by covering objects of your home with sheets of plastic.

If there are areas which cannot be redeemed, put them in a plastic bag and remove them from your home. It is best to remove them rather than risk contamination with other objects or worse, with people. Once you see moldy materials, put them in a plastic bag immediately.

Now if you are running a business and are shipping items to your customer’s homes, it is very important that you keep the items mold-free. Once you have shipped items that are contaminated with mold, people can sue you can it can be the end of your business. If you absolutely need to send the items, try to monitor that it is completely mold free. After all, you do not want to be in a quarrel with your customers once they receive your products.

Once you have confirmed that there is mold on important objects, it is now time to remove them. You can do this by using a stiff brush that can loosen or remove the mold. Mold can be very stubborn so the brush must be stiff and be able to loosen the mold to make your job easier. After that, you will use some black mold removal products. There is a product called a mold spray which you can use on the affected area. All you need to do is follow the instructions on the bottle.

After spraying, you can rinse the area and see if some of the black mold remains. If it does, then repeat the process. Remember that mold can be very stubborn. You may need to have a lot of patience to deal with this problem.

When you are done, you can now do some repairs on the areas or objects affected by mold. Just dry it quickly afterwards to avoid further mold growth.

I encountered mold in my home and used a brush soaked in bleach to remove it. It did the job. The mold never came back.

Thank you I wish all mold issue were this simple.  I recently had one where no one could enter the house as the worse mold possible was airborne.  Had to have professional remediation at $3000.

Heather ~ Up here in the Rocky Mountains where I live the air is dry. That doesn't stop the mold. The Winter months can not only create damage to a roof, it can create leaks through the roof into walls therefore enhancing mold growth. Mold is a serious issue and conveyance of any home with this type of a problem is becoming more difficult until the mold is removed. I've seen REO properties that have actually had concessions up to $9000. for remediation. Great post!
