A Horse of a Different Color and a 1930 Model A Ford

We stopped on our way to Tampa to look at an antique car that was for sale (Craig has the bug again). It was parked in front of a medical center that was, of course, not open on Sunday (never on Sunday).

There were two horse statues guarding the entrace to the medical center and I thought they were pretty cool. They looked so real, I was looking around for apples to feed them: I didn't find any - maybe if the medical center had been open they would have had some.

The horses were a different color - they were gunmetal gray!

Can't you just hear him neighing.

And this is the car that Craig stopped to look at.

Now that's a horse of a different color.

Toni - Awesome car and great horse photo too!  If you guys are ever through Amarillo Texas you will LOVE all the painted life size horses they have all around town.  It's their thing and it's really cool.  I'll have to see if I have some photo's of them.

Toni,  I would take the horse anyday.  Boys and their toys.  Maybe it was a good thing the place was closed.

Toni, That old Model A sure looked to be in good condition!  The horse statues were pretty cool, but I have to admit, I liked the car better!

Wow - That 1930 Model A Ford, reminds me of a family story about one of my uncles.  When he was a young man at the close of 1929, he went into the bank on a friday and withdrew his money to buy one of those.  He had worked at the railyards for a couple years.  He bought the car over the weekend, and on monday, the banks were closed.  Yep, you guessed it, the market had crashed. . .Timing is everything!

Hi Toni, A very cool car. Imagiine using it to show property and the number of Home Buyers wanting to show up in it. I would love to have a vintage Austin Princes or a vintage Rolls for the same reason.

Hi Toni,

Cool horse and car photos. Sorry the car needed work as it looks like it would had been fun to drive around in and be in local parades.

It's true that the horse would require less maintenance, but the car looks really cool -- right out of Downton Abbey!  I miss a lot of photo ops because my camera just won't stay stapled to my hand, but I'm hopeful that my new iPhone 4s will serve as a camera as well.  I don't go anywhere without my phone!

Kathy - I usually have my camera (preferred) but my iPhone 4S camera is pretty darn good too.

John - I would love to see some of those pictures.

Belinda - I'm thinking you're probably right.

Tony - it really wasn't in good condition but a buy at $8,900 I think.

Myrl - I love that story and timing is everything.

Anita - wait for it.....

Will H - it sure is a guy thing!

William J - that was Craig's idea too. We used to have a beetle that we had painted with the balloon, etc. Everyone knew who we were! I'll have to find a picture of that it was so cute.

Kristin - can you see me with the big hat and veil tied on to keep it on :)

Rebecca - thank you. I had a hard time coming up with one :)

Dianne - I have an iPhone 4S and the camera is great - so much better than other cell phones that I've had but I still prefer my camera. I do use the iphone in a pinch when I can't reach for my camera easily.

Toni, old cars are really fun to browse, and really nice when the neighbor has a show, as many old cars line the street and all shapes, colors and models!

Thanks, Dale. My husband said he hadn't even noticed the horse statues.  Too focused on the car, I guess :)
