I just became intensely immersed in Active Rain.  I joined after an invite but only glanced once in awhile.   I received two vacant staging jobs as a direct result of being a member of Active Rain but was so busy getting my studio up and running I put the power of Active Rain on the back burner.

Recently though I needed moral support when I had a major robbery of my inventory and was overwhelmed by the comments and helpful hints from members.  On top of that my daughter, Adrienne Warch who has opened a Renewed Rooms in Savannah, GA, was approached about having a booth  at the Savannah home show because of her presence on Active Rain.

Last but not least,  I noticed that every-time I Googled my name, Active Rain popped up first...I began to realize this was a powerful and FREE marketing tool.  So even though I'm still learning the how to's of  navigating the Active Rain site  I will begin to shout out to others in our industry to join so they also can have an expanding market for their business.

Julianna Hind from IRIS told newbies to post their pictures take advantage...true so true that is why I needed to also give my own personal shout out and Thank Active Rain...sometimes we need to have "rain" smack us in the face before we can smell the flowers!

Hi Renee:  I am so glad that Active Rain has contributed to your success.  But I am also sure that much of your success is because you are good at what you do.  Way to go Renee.  Thanks for sharing such good news with us.  Take care...

Renee I'm so glad to hear of your successes with AR.  It truly is a great resource, and a great place to find new friends, not to mention the exposure.  I too have had a find via AR and posted my thanks.  It feels good to sing the praises.  So here's to you... Hip, hip, Hurray!

Renee, I wake up to AR and go to sleep with AR.  It has such great information. I have met many people from all over.

Renee , congratulations :-)   I love the term "Rain Smack".  It's fitting isn't it?

oh gee wiz-- I am having issues - post just got eaten again by the Internet monster.

Here i go again. Renee, Glad you appreciate Rain Smacks - love it. LOL. I had to laugh when you said Julianna Hind from IRIS, because there is a standing joke related to that and it is said to me often. It originated from my 19 year old (smart Alec) daughter. We were at Red Robins and the waitress totally ignored my request for a refill on a Strawberry Lemonade, and she said "Excuse me, Julianna Hind of IRIS would like a refill"... so now, I hear that all the time from family and friends, I will call my business partner, and she answers, "Hello, Julianna Hind of IRIS... " with, a fake British accent. It's a goofy thing.

Sorry about the break in, your with good company here.

AR has been great for SEO!  I get numerous calls from people who search the internet  and I come up!  I even was on a local TV program a couple weeks ago... the producer found me on the internet!

Renee,

I keep a large umbrella next to my desk exactly for said "rain smacks". You aren't the first person here who signed up and didn't really get involved until months later. Glad to hear about your awakening :)

Funny you say that... I found AR because it kept coming up on my website hit list.  I couldn't figure out how my name kept coming up in someone else's blog that I had never heard of... Thanks Craig!

Too bad you missed the SC Roundtable you could have met a bunch of AR members.. it was AWESOME!

I too am sorry I missed the Roundtable and look forward to being an active participant next time...on the other hand I had a chance to visit several of my children back in Maryland and meet for the first time the new edition to the family...baby boy, Marc.  This is #5 grandchild and the first boy....

The Pratta family is busting with pride!

I am sorry to have missed the Roundtable, as well.  What a great Idea and positive tool for stagers in our area.  We would gladly host it next time, if anyone is interested.
