Let's Say Thanks!

Let's join our voices here at Active Rain and Support our Troops and LetsSayThanks and send a quick post card from you and your families! A dear Active Rain member challenge us all to do our part and post within our own communities and send a postcard to our troops! Xerox has made this an easy challenge to do with their user friendly site.  It's easier than composing an email. I want to Challenge all of El Dorado County and surrounding areas and my blogging community to share your well wishes to those sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, mothers and fathers who have spent time away from their love ones for our freedoms! As we comfortably gather Christmas morning or snuggle close to our families at night, let us remember them and the sacrifices they make daily. May you all take a moment of your time and click two clicks away to send a postcard from your family!

"The mission of Let's Say Thanks is to provide a way for individuals across the country to recognize U.S. troops stationed overseas. By submitting a message through this site you have the opportunity to send a free personalized postcard greeting to deployed servicemen and women."

The postcards, depicting patriotic scenes and hometown images, were selected from a pool of entries from children across the country.  It takes less than one minute to hit the send button! Sometimes the smallest of gestures mean the most, won't you join me and other Active Rain members to wish our Troops a Happy Holiday!

Peggy, thank you for taking the time to support our troops!  I know they will appreciate it!

Michael, thank you as well for taking the time to thank them for what they do for us!  When they feel home sick, it is good for them to get cards to let them know they are appreciated!

Ernie, What a fantastic BLOG site.  I love all the color.   Thanks for your support for our Troops.  After the total lack of support, even hostility for our Vietnam Vets when they came home, this is a very refreshing attitude that has developed in America and you are part of it.  Thanks, Thanks, Thanks!   Jerry

This is an excellent program. I had a "Featured" post on this back on Nov 21st ( Let's Say Thanks - (Support our Troops) Please...  )  and I asked that as many people post this as posssible. I am so glad to see it is still running around AR!!!

Charles, you are the leader of the pack here in AR!  Your influence is felt throughout and you are using it to promote a great cause, our troops.  Candace helped me with the HTML for this post.  I posted it for Localism.com in Sacramento, California.  I hope we can get everyone to do this in AR!  Take care!

Vincent, it good to hear you will be sending them out!  Our troops deserve our support and encouragement!  Thank you for coming to read this reminder and commenting!  Have a good one!  :o)

Re/Max Kai Lani, it is a great thing to see many Americans caring for our soldiers.  I have a good friend from Jr. High and High School who is shipping out to Iraq.  He had been serving in Asia in the special forces and came back for a couple of days to visit family.  He was sent out to be trained for the mission in Iraq.  My prayers for safety for him since he is going to the most dangerous place in Iraq where a lot of fighting is happening.  Thanks again for supporting the troops!

Ernie,  It is a really hard thing to be away from friends and family but it is a REALLY HARD THING for our troops to be away from friends and family at Christmas.   The thing is though that one develops some really tight bonds with his/her fellow soldiers.   As Americans, we are fortunate that generation after generation we seem to find willing men and women to carry the flag into combat in the furtherance of our freedom.   God Bless America!   Jerry

Ernie!   You're the man!   Now though, you best be thinking of starting your Christmas Shopping!   It is at times like this that my stress builds to the point where I have to get out and do mine!   Wish me luck!   Jer

Ernie, Thought you might like to take a look at something we are doing with the Troops here in Hawaii!  This is our PB and one of our Property Managers with the USMC Reserve Toys for Tots Program.

Ernie,  It gave our agents a lot of satisfaction to help with this.  And, after the Marines left, the pile of toys under the office tree has grown back to where it was before they came.   We will call them again tomorrow to come again!   Go America!   Jerry
