For the those of you that are cross country skiers and are looking for a great place to go, look no further than Traverse City! We have the world famous VASA Trail that is not maintained by the DNR. The VASA trail has metal tube money boxes at certain trail head parking lots that you can drop a few bucks in to help maintain the trail. It is voluntary, but it is a system that works. The trail is world class and groomed to perfection. The trail is well marked and there are sections for every skill level and terrain type.
