Amherst NH Plant Sale By The Amherst Garden Club

The Amherst Garden Club holds its annual plant sale on the day before Mother's Day. This is a fun day and great way to get your NH garden started or get Mom a Mother's Day gift.

This year, the plant sale will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 8:30-1:00 at the Wilkins School (80 Boston Post Road) in Amherst New Hampshire.  Mark you calendars, this is a can't miss event.

Amherst Garden Club plant saleThis is a great place to pick up a plant for Mom or purchase excellent plant material to enhance your Southern NH property.

The month prior to the sale, Garden Club members dig up perennials, bushes and ground covers from local gardens and pot them; this assures species sold will thrive in the NH gardens.

Amherst Garden Club members, many of which are Master Gardeners, will be on hand to answer questions about gardening in and around your Amherst NH homes. An information booth will also be there to assist you.

The sale will also include a section of local garden vendors, so you can pick up vegteble, herb, hanging baskets and annual plants as well. The Book Table sells gently used garden books and magazines.

The food table will set you up with yummy desserts for the Mothers Day weekend! Friendly knowledgeable club members will be available to answer questions.

Stop by the “Raffle Table” and check out the garden related items you might win. There are delicious homemade items in the “Baked Goods”. A dozen vendors are invited to sell their garden-related products. There will be heirloom tomatoes, bird houses, hanging baskets, vegetables, annuals, a great variety of hosta plants and day lilies all offered by the wonderful vendors.

The Amherst Garden Club's Annual Plant Sale has become a tradition in Amherst NH that gardeners all over southern NH attend. Its a wonderful event and we encourage all to attend.

These are always fun events to go to. Buy regional type of plants, they require less maintenance such as water and fertilizer since they occur naturally in the Eco system.

Rene,

Annual plant sale with several master gardeners present to answer questions has to be a winner event for the folks in Amhest NH. I will have to investigate as I think one of our local garden clubs is also hold ind a plant sale. Our problem is we tend to kill the plants we buy.
