Safety tip for Real estate agents. Do not leave your garage door opener in your car

Gita brings us an important safety precaution - it's too bad that we need so many of those.

Even without the GPS to lead thieves to your door, they can use your vehicle registration to get your address. Do you suppose people should now start carrying their registration with them, along with the garage door opener, keys, purses, etc?

The GPS should be safe to leave (except for theft, of course) if you program your home address as some commercial business near you. Then it will lead you to your own neighborhood from Timbuktu, but won't tell anyone where you live.

Do not leave your garage door opener in your car.

I just read about someone who left the opener and gps in the car .

They were at a game. Someone broke in to the car and knew where they lived from the gps information. They had enough time to go and break into the house using the opener. They burglarized the house and took off.

I read this in an email that I received alerting everyone so I thought of sharing this on AR.

Some of us have a gps and remote in the car while showing houses.

Do not have your home address in the gps and do not leave anything that has your home address in the car.

I had read recently about someone stealing  the keys  that were left in the car and knowing where the person lived  because of registration in glove compartment and doing the same thing.

Gita - How many things can we carry around with us? I wonder if ti would be legal to make copies, so everyone who might use the car could just keep a copy in a billfold?
