Things to do in Virginia Beach- Cherry Blossom Festival. Virginia Beach will have a Cherry Blossom Festival on 4/1/12 at Redwing Park. Modeled after the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC, it's to celebrate the cherry trees annual spring bloom. In addition, it celebrates it's sisterhood with the Miyazaki City, Japan. There will be plenty of activities celebrating Japanese Culture such as drum performances, martial arts demonstrations, Japanese instruments, vocal and dance performances and Japanese Arts & Crafts. If you're looking for things to do in Virginia Beach - Cherry Blossom festival may be for you. Bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the performances.

Virginia Beach has a long standing relationship with it's sister city in Japan. They share sister parks, Hagino Dai and Mount Trashmore, sister schools, Miyazaki Minami Elementary School and Tallwood Elementary School. In addition, Miyazaki City donated 100 Yoshino Cherry Blossom Trees in 2005.
