Re-Blogging and Beyond The Basics
Richard always has great things to say, and he is right on top of it again with this post. You're right Richard, I knew nothing of these green dots....... On my way to Bob's page.....
Re-Blogging and Beyond The BasicsThe most insightful and popular post that I've written for the benefit of ActiveRain Members was probably Re-Blogging and Beyond. It was educational, informative, illustrative and supported the stated position of ActiveRain regarding Re-Blogs (See Bob Stewart's Post). It's currently been Re-Blogged 26 times and was NOT "Featured" by ActiveRain, which is exactly why it became illustrative of the benefits of Re-Blogging.
The biggest eye opener for many readers was the information about the little green dots:
The illuminated dots indicate how many times a post has been RE-BLOGGED. (4 Times)
By clicking on ANY of the green dots, the names of the people that have RE-BLOGGED that post
will be listed. This applies to your posts and any member post that has been RE-BLOGGED.BY CLICKING ON THE INDIVIDUAL NAMES, you will be taken directly to the RE-BLOGGED POST.
Re-Blogging and Beyond is still relevant and I hope you check it out.

Re-Blogging and Beyond The Basics
Have you noticed it's possible for a Re-Blog of your post to be ranked higher
by Google than your original post? Why does that happen?Have you noticed a Re-Blog of Your Post by another member that got "FEATURED", but Your Post Did NOT? How does that make you feel?
Have you noticed that some people disable comments on their Re-Blog of your post? Is this Good or Bad?
Have you noticed that the real benefit of Re-Blogging is NOT points earned, but exposure gained? True or False?
Did you know that Your Re-Blog of another member's post appears the same as originally written, even if that post is edited and changed? Is that a problem?
Let's discuss Re-Blogging and Beyond The Basics. There's a lot more to Re-Blogging than little green dots.
