Remember the saying...It is better to be seen AND NOT HEARD?
This quote was a big part of a southern upbringing and was enforced quite regularly. Adults said it to young children to let them know they were not part of the conversation.
I grew up hesitent to voice an opinion and learned to stifle and did so even when I knew I should SPEAK UP! When I became an adult, I learned that you MUST BE HEARD in order to be effective.
In this industry, part of being SEEN is indeed being HEARD. Constantly working to connect with past clients, as well as potential buyers and sellers by making phone calls is essential and you can also attend weekly community functions or join a few marketing groups to be SEEN & HEARD further.
Good business habits also start with:
- Perfecting a 30 second elevator speech that sets you apart from the crowd
- Ask for referrals from past clients, if you did a great job, it will surely happen
- Get up, dress up, show up & follow up...and FOLLOW-UP some more
Being HEARD + SEEN = SUCCESS!
