Daymond John

Real Estate Agent with Atlanta Communities 303302

Ever heard of Daymond John? He is the CEO and founder of the clothing line, FUBU. He is also on the great TV show Shark Tank, which airs on Friday nights on ABC. The show features entrepreneurs coming to these 5 millionaires looking for them to invest in their companies. Daymond is one of these guys.

I sat and listened to Daymond speak last night for about 2 hours, and loved every minute of it. He spoke of his life and how he failed multiple times before hitting it big. He said he has 5 rules for making it in life, and I thought I would share these with you.

Set a goal - Daymond said before all else, know what you want.

Homework - Once you decide what you want, do your homework. Learn everything about what you want to do and become an expert.

Love what you do - He said if you don't love what you do, move on.

You are the Brand - You are what makes your idea work. You are the brand. Never forget that.

Keep moving - If you have a setback, keep moving. The worse thing you can do is give up.

I hope that these rules from Daymond John spark some new ideas for you today. I know they did for me!

Peter-I love that show, watch it whenever I can. I love the confidence and flexibility they exude when they are making deals, and the discipline/rationale they have when they pass. We've all read these things before, but when you see it and hear it from someone who's lived that way and made his dreams come true I am rejuvenated. Good share, deserved feature!

Hi, Peter!  Some times it is the simplest messages that resound the most.  I think you hit some nerves with this post.  I have seen Shark Tank several times and am always fascinated how often the contestants turn down the offers they receive.  The chance to be mentored by someone like Daymond is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.  I would never let that pass me by.

These are great points to success, especially the keep going part. Every effort eventually leads to something. A lot of little actions, when put together over time, make a HUGE difference.

Always great to get re invigorated. I once took a Dale Carnige course and I'll never forget the one thing he said that's made a lasting impression on me. "Folks who say bah humbug to motivational talks are those who need them the most".
