Minds in Motion Coming to Prospect CT

A special day of learning and discovery for gifted children will be held on Saturday, March 31 from 1-4 PM at Long River Middle School in Prospect CT. Sponsored by the Connecticut Association for the Gifted, Minds in Motion will feature presentations by representatives of some of the educational centers and cultural centers here in the state.

Minds in Motion is an enrichment and education event for students K-8, as well as their parents and teachers, and features hands-on, fast-paced, high-interest workshops for gifted and high-ability children plus keynote addresses and workshops for adults free of charge.

This session presenters are from The Discovery Museum, Seven Angels Theatre, Flanders Nature Center, and the Connecticut Science Center, as well as local artists and educators.

The sessions are open to children from the Region 16 school district, Prospect and Beacon Falls, and from surrounding school systems as well.

While the students are in the classrooms, parents are invited to attend a keynote address as well as workshops for themselves.

Classes will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Registration can be made online line at the CAG website, or by sending an email to the Region 16 minds in Motion Committee at MIM-prospect@ctgifted.org.

Long River Middle School is located at 38 Columbia Ave, Prospect, which is located behind the Prospect Town Hall.

Ed, I think it is pretty much accepted that when the parents are involved their children do so much better, but then these kids are already gifted.

Ed, I think it's great that Prospect CT is working with parents and children when helping to determine future directions.  This sounds like a great program.
