One of my goals is to someday figure out why so many people are golf crazy and maybe start golfing. Maybe it's the Tiger Woods factor, I don't know. But it seems like golf fever is just catching. And I'm told real estate deals get done on a golf course on a regular basis. So when an advertising company called me about sponsoring score cards I thought why not? Last year they promised me, for a price, that my ad with picture would be over the first hole on the score card and that I'd be the only Realtor. Not all turned out as planned. So this year they are promising me 2 years for the price of one and that I will be the only Realtor and be over hole #1.

But I also wanted to follow the green trail. So I investigated our local Pueblo golf course and I learned that they are very ECO green!

Elmwood is part of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses (ACSP). Parts of this program include :

  • Environmental Planning
  • Wildlife and Habitat Management
  • Chemical Use Reduction and Safety
  • Water Conservation
  • Water Quality Management
  • Outreach and Education

Elmwood Golf Course is located in the center of Pueblo. And this coming year after a few adjustments I'm sponsoring the score card again. So come play around and keep score!

10 Comments on Keeping Score

Dena,  I have never been bitten by the golf bug either.  It seems so rigid and around here the waiting list can be quite long at some clubs. Last year I did get to the driving range just to see how bad I could slice that little ball... LOL

I really like this idea.  Wonder why they failed the prior year?  I do golf because plenty of real estate is done on the golf course.

Dena, Sounds like you can learn something fun while "going green."  I think it's a wonderful idea.  I don't play golf but I do go to the driving range, it's just fun!

I figure when I can no longer Mountain bike, Kayak, Rock Climb, Scuba Dive, Hunt, Hike, Run, Board, X Country Ski, or Bag peaks then it may be time to golf...but good on ya for the creative ads!

Dena, I havent actually got out on the green but I have a golf computer game and I LOVE IT!  LOL  I love the idea of the score card marketing.  Golfing is big in my area and I might look into this.

Dena, have you gotten any calls from this??????

I hope the holes that they put your picture over is not the ones that very one bogies :)

Hi Dena, I haven't taken up golf as I think my one expensive sport (skiing) is enough.  Although when you compare it to what it costs to go to a Broncos game it isn't bad.  It is nice to see the golf course is green in more ways than one  :)

No, I haven't gotten any calls from this. I'm really thinking of this as passive advertising. Since I haven't been in the business all that long I'm just trying to get my face out there.
