Lots of times in my life when I have made an appointment to see a physician I have had to fill out the new patient paperwork even though I wasn't a new patient. You see, I don't go to the doctor until I think death is imminent. When that feeling hits that I could actually die I call the doctor. Now this is not the advice I so dole out to my family and friends. When Donald sniffles I tell him to call the doctor and make an appointment. Well this is just what he tried to do a while back after working through the pain over a weekend. But it was a no go. They could see him about 30 hours later.
So I called my daughter and asked who else we could try. Because she is in and out of hospitals multiple times daily in a smaller community she has gotten to know MANY of the local physicians. And of course she had a recommendation. So we called Oconee Family Medicine Center. They were fantastic.
When I was sick just a few days after Donald (we were having record high pollen count numbers) I also called and while I did not see the same doctor in the practice I also had an appointment the same day I called. And while I know that is not always possible, it's also not possible to schedule when you get sick. Our area is not large enough to support a non emergency clinic and you really shouldn't go to the emergency room for something like a sinus infection in my opinion.

I highly recommend this practice if you are looking for a new family physician in the Lake Sinclair area. Of course I know you'll need to check with your insurance company to see if they are one of your allowed providers (but that's a blog for another day). But they readily accepted our insurance and we were treated quickly and with respect which is also important to me.
