FLUME BRIDGE

Lincoln, New Hampshire

Many believe the Flume Bridge was built for its present location in 1871 when the Lincoln Turnpike Company was created and build the road from the main highway, U.S. Route 3, to a point near the foot of the Flume. The bridge is used by buses bringing visitors to the Flume and maintenance vehicles. The Flume Bridge is eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places.

Photo taken near the bridge.

Hi Keith, Nice photo of the bridge. I love these covered bridges. The roots growing over that mound also looks interesting. It almost looks like a fallen tree under there?

That is a beautiful location, it seems so untouched by the modern day, I love it.

Although you seem to be known for your covered bridges, Keith, the picture of the tree roots growing over exposed bedrock is really wonderful.

What a pretty bridge Keith! I've seen these in VT and always photography them too. There's just something about an old fashion covered bridge!
