Things to do in Alameda: Splash into spring Egg Scramble, Saturday, 10 am to 11:45 am at Crab Cove picnic area - Robert Crown Memorial Beach. This annual event is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Alameda, the East Bay Regional Park District and the Alameda Recreation and Park Department. Kids and adults will participate in arts and crafts, lawn games interactive mobile fish exhibit and beach exploration. Be sure to bring your own basket to collect goodies and take a photo with the bunny.
Things to do in Alameda: Agatha Christie was a very prolific author of popular mysteries and plays. The Altarena Playhouse will be presenting The Mousetrap, the Christie play which has been performed continuously since 1952 in London, England. The play runs through April 22. The cast includes Sarah Birdsall, Magenta Brooks, Scott Bryan, Ross Neuenfeldt, Jacquie Duckworth, Bruce Kaplan, Linsay Rousseau Burnett, Damien Seperian Paul Stout. Things to do in Alameda: The Alameda’s Farmer’s Market is open to the public every Saturday and Tuesday morning from 9am to 1pm, rain or shine. It is best to arrive early to find the best choice of delectable fruits and vegetables. There are activities for kids and grownups alike. The market is at Webster Street and Haight Avenue
Things to do in Alameda: Make do! A recycle and Up-cycle art and fashion show at Rhythmix CulturalWorks on March 9 at 8pm. This fashion show is for those who cherish recycling, repurposing and reusing things and who hesitate to throw anything away. Sounds like me. According to Rhythmix, “Rhythmix Cultural Works, Julie’s Coffee and Tea, Sewing guru Jennifer Serr, Upcycle Clothes and artists from Redux have teamed up to create a show that will inspire the “Make Do” in all of us!” The show runs through May 4.
