Easter is just around the corner and I'm getting lots of hits to my site from folks looking for schedules for Easter Egg Hunts in the Iowa City area. Next to Halloween this is a great time for kids and just like Halloween the buzz around it gets bigger every year.
Below are the schedules for the biggest Easter Egg Hunts I could find in Iowa City, North Liberty and Coralville. I'm sure there are others, this is just to get you started:
Easter Egg Hunt in Iowa City organized by the Legacy Active Retirement Community
When: Saturday March 31st 2012 - 2.00pm - 4.00pm - For children 10 years old and younger
Where: Legacy Active Retirement, 1020 South Scott Blvd, Iowa City
This will be one big Easter Egg Hunt with 10,000 Easter Eggs donated by Hills Bank and many other sponsors supporting the community for a great day for the family. To give young children a fair shot at finding Easter Eggs, times will be staggered into twenty minute time slots by age. It starts at 2.00pm for 1 year olds and ends at 4.00pm for 9 & 10 year olds.
Children will get the opportunity to have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny. And perhaps even more exciting for the little ones, they can see bunnies and chickadees from Orscheln Farm & Home too!
For more information about the Easter Egg Hunt at the Legacy Active Retirement Community please call Karen Davis at 319-430-5971

As I mentioned at the beginning of the post. This is not a list of all the Easter Egg Hunts in the Iowa City area, just the biggest ones I could find that I'm sure are open to the public. If you know of any other Easter Egg Hunts in the Iowa City area please tell us in the comments.

The Amana Colonies Heratage Museum does an egg hunt every year. This year it will be on Saturday, April 7th from 9:00 am-12:00 pm. Info below:
Spring has sprung! Join us on the lawn of the Amana Heritage Society Museum for a fun Easter basket hunt! The baskets will once again be full of delicious treats! The Easter Bunny and his friends will be here to greet the children, and he will be glad to have his picture taken with one and all so bring your camera! Once again this year we will have the Easter Bunny's real bunny helpers from the Joel Huebner family's bunny farm. This event is filled to capacity plus some every year and reservations are required so the Easter Bunny knows how many baskets to bring. Please call us with your children's reservation by April first! Cost is $3.00 per child for members and $5.00 per child for non-members. Children 12 years and younger only, please. http://amanacolonies.com/pages/directory/amana-heritage-museum.php
