SUPPORT YOUR FEMALE BROTHERS......

To every male out there: Take just a second to realize something - Women are 99.9% identical to us. The only difference is their genitalia are "innies" instead of "outies". And that ain't no big freakin' deal.

They are NO different from us - they share the exact same hopes and fears, they have the exact same obligations and financial commitments in this world.

Truly imagine what it must be like for the entire world to expect you to get out of bed EVERY day to look a certain way, dress a certain way, go through an entire process of putting colored paste all over your face and hair before you even step out in public AND be expected to put aside funds from your hard earned pay for this each month.

I guarantee your day of Kharma will come around when you will need your female brothers in a life-saving situation. When you see a situation when one of them is being oppressed or harassed - SUPPORT YOUR FEMALE BROTHERS.

When you see a QUALIFIED candidate running for office - SUPPORT YOUR FEMALE BROTHERS.

When you see a woman strapping on fatigues and putting their life on the line in the armed forces - SUPPORT YOUR FEMALE BROTHERS.

When there is a situation where one of them is being treated unjustly or unfairly - SUPPORT YOUR FEMALE BROTHERS by using your vote and participation to make a difference.

With all this in mind, go out there today and shake a woman's hand and say "I get it, bro. I've got your back"..........If they look at you funny, you just tell them what I've said today and I guarantee you'll see a look on their face that you've never seen before that will change your life for good, and all the deepest questions you've ever had about the universe will be answered at that moment.......SUPPORT YOUR FEMALE BROTHERS

Oh Ralph, I think you have opened your self up to a lot there. There are more ways we are different then just innies and outties although I will stop there.

Kim,

Try to read between the lines with this post.

The intent is realization for every male to have empathy for their female counterparts based on being able to understand what it would be like if they were in their shoes, not to cite the differences.

Sometimes the sexes can't relate to the differences because they can't vision it.  But when you put it in perspective with the similarities, they can understand it much better.

And if I've opened something up, then this is a good thing.  Nothing good ever comes from things that are not talked about.

Dialogue brings knowledge.

Knowledge is power.

I'm guessing that this will evolve into an interesting discussion.  Personally I trend more toward what Kim said.  Boys and girls are both human beings with all the quirks and glitches but that's where it ends.  We're as different as night and day.  But that being said we can't do without each other for various reasons.

Having "read between the lines" I fully appreciate and endorse the point you were going for. Now a few extra points.  I get the idea of the the use of the word "brother" here, but the truth is that one part of the problem is, in and of it's self, language.  Can you think of a male counter part word that has the same venom as the word "b**ch, how about the famous Rush word, "sl*t."  And that colored paste they are supposed to put on their face isn't called "make up" for nothing.  We're supposed to "make up" for not being men.  Our God is the Father, and the Son.  The "mother" damn well had to be a virgin.  On and on.

Thanks for your thoughts and sentiment. Please keep it up and keep believing we can over come.

As the father of four daughters, gender equality is an important issue for me. Let's take down that glass ceiling!

Your heart is definitely in the right place - I wish more men in certain parts of the world could feel even a little bit more kindly toward women.

Hi Ralph - I'm going to forego the easy humor and the minor quibbles and agree wholeheartedly with the thought behind your post - we're all people, life is a struggle, and we need to help and support each other with respect, empathy and good sense. Gender is only one of may stupid ways we can build walls between us and obscure what's really important.

Thank you!! Very nice post....not even sure why this is controversial.

I love being a woman!! I love the power I have. I never have to do anything I don't want to do.

  • I'm not expected to work...but if I want to, I can.
  • I am not required to have kids or stay home with them if I do....but I can if I want to (and I don't even need a husband for this anymore...and of course if I'm pregnant and don't want to be, I don't need a man's permission to end that either).
  • I never even have to pay for my own drinks (oh come on, we know this is true)
  • I can wear make-up (and do) because I like to
  • I can join the men on the front line.....or not

The point is....women's lib gave me the option to be a stay-at-home mom and wife.....or not. My husband does not have these options. Don't tell me that there isn't a stigma for a stay-at-home-dad. And you men better not act all "male" anymore...we won't take it.

Well....I will

Today? I worked. I worked out. I went to the market. I cooked brunch. I picked up my husband's dry-cleaning. I LOVE DAYS LIKE THIS!!! Because I'm a woman. W-O-MAN!!! :)

Thanks Ralph....hope this wasn't a blog in itself

Interesting topic for a post. Can't help wondering if you're up for the husband of the year award? Good luck with that (lol).
