Indian River County is centrally located on the Eastern seaboard of Florida. It is just 75 miles south of Kennedy Space Center and 135 miles north of Miami, the county contains 543 square miles with beautiful beaches, immaculate ocean and river front communities, and of course the almost endless groves of Indian River oranges and grapefruit.

While there has been a spurt of recent development in the county, we are still free from the urban sprawl and congestion seen in other coastal communities.
The single family market of homes has seen a slight decline in prices in the last year, as more of the new development homes come on line. Recent market data shows there are currently 2,542 homes listed through the MLS system, ranging in price from $89,000 to $14,900,000. Last year, 1,502 homes were sold through the MLS with an average time on market of just over 100 days. The median price of homes in the county is just over $215,000. As for expired listing, 2,434 homes did not sell in their normal 6 month listing period.
As for the condo market, there are 1,222 units available on the market at the close of the reporting period. There were 370 sold last year with an average time on market of 136 days. Current pricing ranges from a low of $59,000 to a high of $3,295,000. The median price is just over $160,000.
