How do I found out the rankings of my state's real estate agents?

By
Real Estate Agent with The Evans Group DMV - Serving Virginia VA DPOR 0225103518

Customer asked me this question.  I have no idea.  I know I am ranked #1 in Exit Realty Virginia but not Exit Wide.  I may be 1000th in the state total.  But after my clients inquiry I am curious, how so many Realtors out on their advertisements - #1 Top Producing Agent in Virginia blah blah blah.

Any clues to how to find out?

It is done normally by board of Realtors, contact your board.  Your number one in my book.

Take care!

I just checked Realtor.com, no luck.  I'll check with the boards.

I think its interested that so many agents are #1 ranked in Maryland and Virginia.

Funny HAHA!!  I wonder what the criteria is?

There are lots of number 1's, listing agent, selling agent, dollar volume, # of sides, # 1 agent is a particular office, # 1 in a particular market, # 1 in any one of the franchises in a particular area, etc.  and then there is # 1 with Mom!

Well I got #1 MOM covered.  I have 6 daughters from ages 1 -12.  My husband can't get the boy thing going.

But Karen, where can we find the state stats for each category.  There can only be one #1 in each per state.  Who tallying to determine the best for the year.  I mean really the MLS should have agent stats for the state they cover.  I pay a lot of money to MRIS and that is a service I would like have for moments like this.

Not only that, it irritates me and most logical people when you see fifteen number 1 agents in one home magazine.  I think it's false advertising if you just make yourself #1 and not an officiating body or board. I was please to see one agent advertise herself as #5.  It was actually kind of funny.  My client thought so too.

Hi Vangie:  I know you are number one in being truly blessed with your six daughters.  You are a lucky woman, and of course, your hubby is an extremely lucky man, being surrounded by all that female energy.

Now, your local board might be able to get you those figures, but I would think your broker could use some of his or her broker functions and enter the local MLS and check out other agent's volume production.  I know brokers have the ability to do that here in Fort Worth.  I hope that helps.

I always chuckle a little when I look in the RE section and see 6 different ads from 6 different agents who all say "I'm #1!"

It makes me wonder what the public thinks when they notice it too!?

I agree - we have number on by total volume, but I know I can't find that info, per se.  A local business journal publishes a list each year, but that is based on agents submitting their production, and not everyone does.

Ha!  Just had a run in with an agent who was claiming to be #1 in a local town, but she had only done one side there in her entire career.  Her broker made her pull the add down.  Her response to me was, "well maybe I'm #1 tallest"  give me a break!
