Got 20 Minutes? Here's a Real Sweet Tooth Solution

Cherry Cheesecake PastryWhen I was much younger (ugh), I loved desserts; the sweeter, the better.  As I've aged (ugh again), I enjoy the decadence without so much sweetness.

Yesterday I was craving a dessert and decided to go through my refrigerator and freezer to see what I could come up with.  Here's the result.  And, it only took about 20 minutes - all of which was baking time.

I call this dessert (drum roll, please) Cherry Cheesecake Pastry

What You'll Need:

  • 1 package Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry Shells (6 in a package)
  • 1 8oz brick cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tblsp. Nutella
  • 1 can Cherry Pie filling

Bake the puff pastry according to directions on package. In the meantime, mix together the cream cheese, sour cream, nutella and 2 tblsp of cherry pie filling.  Set aside.

Cool baked puff pastry.  (Don't forget to remove the center portion of the puff pastry.)  Spoon the cream cheese mixture into each puff pastry.  Top each pastry with a little bit of cherry pie filling.

I think this recipe would also be good if you deleted the cherry pie filling altogether and topped the pastries with a little whipped cream.

Serves 6.
