I truly understand this and I accept that this is an area of improvement that I need to work on but ...you know what? There are times when we are pushed to the edge and this is one of those times.
I have a buyer. She is a wonderful person caught in a total mess of a situation that is beyond control. She has a condo to sell and she even has a buyer...so you must be thinking, "what's the problem, Karen?"
I'm sure with this start "patience is a virtue" you are wondering what in the world is this person complaining about? I have a buyer and that buyer has a buyer for her condo, which is necessary for the purchase of the home in Ann Arbor, Michigan for which I am the buyer's agent. (Is this clear as mud?)
Okay here comes the rub:
The buyer of the condo...she is already in the condo! Has she purchased as yet?
Oh no. She is renting from my buyer (who is the seller with another agent in this transaction.) This condo is out of my area of expertise and I'm not involved with the sale of the condo.... except that I'm waiting....waiting for the sale to happen because our contract is contingent on the sale of that home. The purchase of the seller's home in our transaction....is also contingent on the sale of the home my buyer wants to purchase.
The contract was written October and we were told to expect to close at the end of October and here we are at the end of December!!!
I am trying to be persistent as well as work on this "patience" thing people are just so crazy about. But I don't know, patience isn't for me. The ONLY reason I haven't lost it is because my buyer needs me and it isn't her fault.
What I know: Do not put your buyers in a home if they haven't closed. It is just craziness otherwise!! (I'm not real good at the patience thing but I'm pretty good at stating the obvious.)
