If you want to vote in this year's May primary, which helps determine who will be running for President in November, you need to hurry. The voter registration deadline is quickly approaching, Bryan-College Station citizens! If you are not currently registered but are living in Bryan-College Station, you must be registered by April 12, 2012 to cast your vote in the May primary.
To be eligible to vote here in Brazos County, you must be a US citizen, be at least 18 years old on election day (in this case, May 29, 2012), reside in Brazos County, be registered by election day, have not been convicted of a felony (unless all time served, including probation and any parole, has been completed) or have been declared by a court of law to be mentally incompetent. Luckily, you don't have to physically walk in to the Voter Registrar's office to register yourself. You can register online or mail in your application to the Voter Registrar's office (ATTN: Kristeen Roe, Brazos County Voter Registrar, 300 E William Joel Bryan Pkwy, Bryan, TX, 77803). All name or address changes must be done at least 30 days before any election to be eligible to vote.
Doing your civic duty means taking part in all aspects of life here in Bryan-College Station. That includes registering and participating in elections. If you have recently moved to Brazos County or have changed your name (marriage, divorce, etc), you will need to make sure to update your voter registration information so you can take part in the May 29th primary election.
