The Holiday Season
Many of us look at the holiday season as a time of giving - and it is. But there's no reason why we can't give the rest of the year too. The holidays just wake us up to the fact that there are people in need in the world. While we're conscious, why not do something to plan your giving this year?

More About Kelle's Friend and Why He Needs Help

Dale DeSharone is a 51 year old father of 2 teenage children - 16 year old, Avital and 12 1/2 year old, Nadav. Nadav is about to become a Bar Mitzvah at his synagogue in Concord, MA in a few weeks. Only his father, Dale, will not be able to attend.

Dale was diagnosed with a rare bone marrow disorder called Myelodysplastic Syndrome, or MDS. It is more typically found in the elderly and even in that population is a rare disease. It is often referred to as "smoldering Leukemia" because it can turn into Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) often. Once MDS turns into Leukemia it is very hard to treat according to the doctors at Dana Farber where Dale receives his treatment.

Dale had a bone marrow transplant on Oct 19; and endured a 7 week hospital stay. Dale was in a modified "bubble" during his treatment with few visitors and only weekly visits with his children.

Dale grew up in Southern California and learned to meditate at age 16. In his 20s he turned to Macrobiotics, Transcendental Meditation and other forms of connection with his higher self.

He started a computer games company in the Ukraine many years ago and while in the hospital this month was forced to close his most recent company in Kiev. The company created art for computer games. Dale's employees revered him and the work they did together over the years. Many tears were shed after the necessary decision was made to close the company; it was a really sad day.
