We are experiencing some system performance issues. Please bear with us. We have all hands on deck looking into the matter. So if you were wondering.......it's not you, it's us!!

UPDATED: We found the issue.............in fact, I just sat here and listened to Matt explain it to Jerry............I won't even try to pass on what he was talking about. Let's just say, we know the problem and these guys are going to get it fixed. But it might be an issue over the next few days :( Matt is working on a short term solution, the longer term solution will be a little tougher to implement, but will get done.

(you should see the white board in this office. haha, looks like they were writing in Latin or something)

Thanks Bob.  I was starting to wonder just about now.  It's not you... it's me.  I mean, yeah, what you said.  Red alert.

Gee Bob - Thanks for the update....had not noticed! It's only takes 5-10 minutes for each page to load. Do you really feel this is a problem. lol

12/19/2007 03:23 PM by Guilford Connecticut Real Estate Agent, Sandra Cummings (William Raveis Real Estate)

It has been a few days.....Notice we haven't complained?   Maybe we'll get bonus points... LOL

12/19/2007 03:23 PM by Dan Cummings - Connecticut's Running Realtor (Raveis Real Estate)

That's what happens when you have such a popular site.  Everone wants to use it at the same time.

12/19/2007 03:26 PM by Rob Arnold, Florida Realtor / Investor (Sand Dollar Realty Group, Inc.)

Im surprised you guys are even able to comment :)

Rob,

It only stays popular though if people can actually access it :)

We are working on it still.........

Bob - I noticed this yesterday. It was getting pretty bad. Certain pages are having a really hard time loading.

12/19/2007 03:45 PM by Ryan Martin - Bellingham Real Estate Agent (Windermere Real Estate / Whatcom Inc.)

Bob, I spent 20 plus years in the IT industry before real estate and I know what it takes to manage a site, and more importantly, to keep it up and running. As long as you are not down completely you are good in my book.

12/19/2007 03:52 PM by Ted J. Williams (Safari Realty)

Thanks for the heads up.  Yes, I was thinking it was me, but glad to hear it's you.

12/19/2007 03:57 PM by Fran Gatti - Realtor® Crescent City CA Real Estate (RE/MAX Coastal Redwoods)

I am so glad to see this - I have been running diagnosis on my system today - I so thought it was me :)

12/19/2007 03:57 PM by Jo Soss | Bremerton WA Real Estate (Skyline Properties, Inc.)

I thought everyone had taken off for Christmas, since very few people were on the system. I'm sure you guys will have it resolved soon. Thanks for the heads up though.

12/19/2007 03:58 PM by Larry Brewer Nashville real estate (Keller Williams - Franklin tn)

Been freaking me out.  Of course, I introduced one of my own problems trying to post a different video this morning... didn't work on my other blog, either... but even before that things were dragging.

Best of luck...

12/19/2007 04:06 PM by Lane Bailey - REALTOR & Car Guy (Diamond Dwellings Realty)

Well, at least I worked in a defrag last night.

12/19/2007 04:14 PM by Lenn Harley Homefinders.com MD & VA Real Estate

Thanks Bob.....we are probably creating a lot of it by entering and because it is slow, pressing the button one time too many.......and re-entering and then deleting our duplicated work......(ok, maybe no one but me is doing this......my 2008 goals include acquiring patience......

12/19/2007 04:18 PM by Julie Chapman Realty Homes Brunswick Georgia

Darn... here I was this |--| close to throwing my laptop out the window and ordering a new one... then you go and say that.

12/19/2007 04:20 PM by Fairbanks Ak Real Estate Broker Jesse Clifton (Jesse & Kathy Clifton, REALTORS 907-699-6024)

Is this your way of forcing us to get outside, talk to live people, and sell homes? :)

12/19/2007 04:21 PM by John Novak - Las Vegas and Henderson NV Real Estate (Keller Williams Realty The Marketplace)

Julie,

I am just as guilty as you of doing that. The great thing for me is I can sit here and yell into the hallway......."The site is SLOWWWW, will someone DO SOMETHING"

12/19/2007 04:42 PM by Bob Stewart - ActiveRain (ActiveRain)

Thank you & have a wonderful Holiday!

12/19/2007 04:48 PM by Kelly Sibilsky (RE/MAX Unlimited Northwest)

Bob,

This is not normal? I thought it was running in parallel with the real estate market and the holidays. I didn't realize AR has that much of an impact on the market. If we can get this system fixed, maybe it might jumpstart the market and I can get some of my listings sold?

Happy holidays!

12/19/2007 04:52 PM by Dave D, Southern California Real Estate ~San Gabriel Valley (LA) & Orange County (Century 21 Excellence)

Dave,

If that were the case, I can assure you that we would have any programmer we could find in here trying to get this performance issue fixed, no matter the cost :)

12/19/2007 04:55 PM by Bob Stewart - ActiveRain (ActiveRain)

Oh my! I thought it was me and bought a new computer! lol

12/19/2007 05:00 PM by Tigard Oregon Real Estate >> Wayne B. Pruner, GRI (Oregon First)

I am like wayne, I just took my old system out on the balcony and dropped it 30 floors and then went to buy another. And now to find out it was not me at all. Ouch. LOL

12/19/2007 05:28 PM by Danny Thornton (Home America Mortgage, INC.)

Actually Missy........I just checked on a few things.........and in your case, it actually was you.......hahahaha ;)

12/19/2007 05:37 PM by Bob Stewart - ActiveRain (ActiveRain)

Oh no, what happened to all of my ActiveRain Points!

...(ActiveRainers frantically screaming)...

Oh, there they are... my mistake.

Hope I didn't scare anyone.

12/19/2007 05:46 PM by The TaxMan (Self Employed)

Bob, Maybe it's pig latin :)

12/19/2007 07:02 PM by Nicole Rae (ActiveRain Corp.)

Ya think it might have something to do with the 62.3k members AR has now???? Maybe.....just ....maybe.  I didn't see the post when I emailed about the trouble with localism.  Makes sense since the system was really slow.  Although I do need a bigger computer (small hard drive, small screen,  lots of photos AND low ram don't mix don't mix well.) the sight was slower than anything else I surfed today. The only similar experience I had was when I was working at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.  That network had all sorts of issues and they had no where near 60k people using it.

12/19/2007 07:02 PM by Ruthmarie Hicks (Keller Williams Realty)

Only Jennifer would think it was just her and run out and buy a new computer...lol

12/19/2007 07:06 PM by Guilford Connecticut Real Estate Agent, Sandra Cummings (William Raveis Real Estate)

Damn! I wish I would have seen this post before I threw my other laptop across the room and smashed it into a a thousand pieces!

12/19/2007 07:09 PM by Las Vegas Real Estate - Paul Francis, CRS (Prudential Americana Group)

Thanks for letting us know. I didn't think it was me but you never know. I get impatient sometimes and this has ALMOST been enough to keep me from playing in the Rain. :)

Thanks for the heads up!  Not a great time of year to have to handle this type of situation.  We will be patient -- We know that you are working diligently on getting things back on track and it is appreciated.  Happy Holidays to everyone.

OH no I cannot live without my AR. I have been wondering what was going on. But AR is getting new members to sign on so fast it is so awesome.

12/19/2007 09:06 PM by Susan Trombley Re/Max Broker Raleigh NC & Surrounding Areas (Re/Max Hometown)

Ummm, is it me or is it still SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. I cant live without my AR fix. I need help.

We noticed it a few nights ago. It's more evident tonight that it was last night. It's a bit of a fight to get the comments through. But we're intrepid.

cheers

12/19/2007 09:47 PM by Renee Burrows - Las Vegas NV Real Estate (Nevada Realty Solutions)

Bob,

It's kinda like the Santa Claus line at the mall!!! Thanks,   Fran

P.S. I love Missy, but her site is like getting an e-massage with all those little squares all over the place...like AR pinball!!!

12/19/2007 09:55 PM by Fran 'The Title Man' Gaspari Title Insurance-PA & NJ (Patriot Land Transfer, Inc.)

Thank you for putting this post up.  I thought it was my computer, but then I noticed things were only slow on AR.  Glad you've figured out the problem.

12/19/2007 11:26 PM by Gail Robinson, GRI, e-PRO - Black Rock Connecticut Real Estate (William Raveis Real Estate)

Okey dokey... it has been a bit frustrating to actually load a comment or view anyone's posts. Good toknow it wasn't me or my 'puter.

12/20/2007 12:56 AM by Joeann Fossland, Master Certified Coach (Advantage Solutions Group)

Thanks for the update Bob, I knew you guys would get it figured out, even though it's in Latin :)

12/20/2007 02:30 AM by Larry Hammelman Sterling, Illinois Real Estate (Mel Foster Co.)

Whenever my AR pages take long to load I have gotten into the habit of checking out another page's load time.  Sometimes it's me, but the last few days it really has been you!  Glad to hear you've got it figured out.  In the meantime I'll keep doing my laundry as I socialize on Active Rain. =)

Bob:

We are so glad that you are on top of these performance issues and for making us aware of them.

Brave man.

Normally, I would have to say, "TMI" but I will let it slide in this case.

12/20/2007 05:10 AM by Griffin Georgia Real Estate - Jessica Wynn Horton (Jessica Horton & Assoc.)

Bob,

I've been trying to insert a link in a post and while I've never had a problem doing so before this time it just shows me bunches of symbols and boxes when I click it on. Is that part of the performance issues or am I totally messed up? BTW it works fine elsewhere????

12/20/2007 06:39 AM by Monika McGillicuddy~REALTOR®~ N.H. Real Estate Broker & Trainer (Prudential Verani Realty/Hampstead)

On-Going Issues....  This morning I noticed the edit/delete bar is missing in the comment section and when I try to check back on comments I left yesterday it will not allow me to see "member only" posts.  Seems you are logged out once you pick an old comment from "my home"

12/20/2007 06:41 AM by Dan Cummings

Bob,
Thanks for staying in touch with us, it makes difficult time easier.  I will say, the system is behaving better so far this A.M.

12/20/2007 07:19 AM by Cynthia Tilghman, Realtor® Onslow County NC Home Specialist (Kingsbridge Realty, Inc)

Thanks for the update. Keep up the great work. We do appreciate what you do for us.

12/20/2007 08:01 AM by Robert L. Brown~Grand Rapids Real Estate Flexit Realty, West Michigan (www.mrbrownsellsgr.com)

It is technology and lots of users.  It happens and having implemented software where 100,000 users were going to jump on in a short period of time I know what can happen.  We will all survive a little slow down :-)

12/20/2007 09:09 AM by Cindy Jones-Northern Virginia Real Estate & Military Relocation Services (RE/MAX Allegiance #1 RE/MAX Company in the World)

I threw my laptop against the wall and it's actually performing better now.  Know anybody that can patch drywall?

Bob, in between visits to the beach, snorkeling etc I've been trying to quickly comment back and add photos...thought it was the fact that I didn't have high speed connection on this lap top...thanks for the update. Aloha

12/20/2007 09:55 AM by Bonner Thomason CRS, ABR, GRI, e-Pro (Keller Williams Realty)

Gena,

You stop commenting and enjoy snorkeling and the beach..........I'm so jealous!!!!!!!

This AM Matt did some quick fixes that should keep things in working order until we are able to get at the root of the problem over the next couple of days.

Dan,

I will have to take a look at that issue you are having...........in fact, I may call you.

12/20/2007 12:43 PM by Bob Stewart - ActiveRain (ActiveRain)

Bob... Seems to be working fine now.... Noticed it for an hour or so this morning and then moved on to other things... also see some of my early comments don't even show up on "my home" ... and yes I was logged in, not counting the earlier one I left here when I was looged out...

12/20/2007 02:02 PM by Dan Cummings - Connecticut's Running Realtor (Raveis Real Estate)

Looks like AR got to big for its britches!  I see you have figured out the problem and got it fixed. Growing pains are no fun. Not having any lag at all today. -Charles

I was really thinking that my computer was getting ready to croke...so this is the reason.

Thanks for fixing it!
