2008 is just around the corner and for many of us, that means it's time to write our New Year's Resolutions!
If you are like many of my clients, real estate and real estate investing is a tantalizing (albeit intimidating) field. For us Realtors®, taking a class outside of our field can be a great way to relax, unwind and even network! So why not take a class and learn a little more about it from an expert.
Emory University's Emory Center for Lifelong Learning provides classes on topics from real estate to travel, photography to cooking, and it's a great place to learn! Most of the classes take place at their Decatur campus, though some do meet at off-campus locations and they have just started offering courses in the Vinings area.
Some real estate classes offered are:
And there are classes with an emphasis on finances:
- Wealth Management
- Back in the Black: Create a Debt-Free Life
- Blueprint for Financial Success
- Smart Couples Financial Workshop
- Understanding All There is to Know about Your Credit Scores
And some classes that I think may interest Realtors® (besides, of couse, the off-topic ones) for enriching their businesses and customer service:
- Decorated to Sell
- Never Be Lied to Again: Building Credibility and Detecting Deception
- Personology
- Relationship-Tune-Up
But beyond real estate, the Emory Center for Lifelong Learning offers a wealth of opportunities -- travel, wine tasting, languages (everything from French and Spanish to Arabic and Mandarin Chinese!), gardening, art classes, and more!
Classes begin in January and registration is happening now!
As a graduate of the Emory Center for Lifelong Learning in French I and French II, as well as Cooking Indian Cuisine, I can say first-hand that it is well worth it! In addition to the great learning atmosphere, you can also meet new people and network - who knows, you may meet a future client!
