I wrote this post way back in 2008 and discovered it again today. It reminded me that no matter how crazy, stressful and "unplanned" my days become in this whacked, fast paced business to take time to realize and take note of the simple things that really bring me joy and make my heart sing.....
After seeing this again and reading it I have decided that 4 years is too long to have gone without another day like this......Liam and I will be heading out again soon with him in charge of the camera and Flip.
I hope that you all don't mind me recycling this because I want it to stand as a reminder to all of you - it truely IS the little things that propel us forward, give us courage, replenish our soul and keep us grounded.
Peace, ♥, and Serenity for you all, today!
I had to go WWWAAAYYY out in the country today to snaps some pics for a BPO. I don't do many of them but from time to time it is nice to fine tune those market analysis skills - at least that is how I look at it. Anyhow, my one and only son was very eager to go along. He KNOWS that music will be blaring in the car and he loves singing at the tops of his lungs as much as his mother does. We are a sight! We sing and we dance all in the car - it is so amazing that I don't have tickets for public displays of insanity!
Country roads, windows rolled down, sunroof open and about every cd this family owns in the car with us. There was one that I hadn't heard IN FOREVER so I popped it in. Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band - The Distance. I played Roll Me Away and we both decided we wanted to hear it over and over and over again.
It was a full morning! Got home, downloaded the pics and was half way through the BPO when a screen came up that it was cancelled! WHAT??? I just spent tons of gas, 100 miles and my whole morning out doing this when there were MANY more business activities that I could have been doing! Gggrrrr!
UNTIL - I went through the pics that Liam and I had taken while we were out today. Nope, not mad anymore - in fact a little teary - my son and I had A BLAST today! Liam was in charge of the camera for most of the trip so he is pretty proud of this little montage. We missed some pretty shots but we didn't care. I hope that you enjoy the music even if the pics may bore you.
Today was the epitome of a Carolina Blue Sky and it just couldn't have been more beautiful! I got to spend it with my most favorite person in the world, sing my heart out and eat sour gummy worms! Come on - jealous, aren't you!
