Orofino, Idaho..a small town located in along the Clearwater River, and beautiful mountainous country.   This is a town for those who love the outdoors!!  The Clearwater river if famous for its record steelhead, and the Dworshack Dam and Fish Hatchery, which I've visited several times.  Kids love to visit too!!  The dam is the largest straight axis dam in North America.

The Nez Perce National Historic Park  is just a mile away with a museum filled with Nez Perce Indian history.

The name "Oro fino" means Fine Gold, but  the name of the town  is pronounced Oro feeno..

If you like an area that has "seasons", you will like Orofino.  You will enjoy an ever changing view with each.

The population of Orofino is just over 3,000 people and is located within Nez Perce County and was a stop for Lewis and Clark back in

1805.
