Buyers Love a Deck But Not If It Needs Maintenance

Decks are very popular with Buyers.  How does your deck look?  Just because you have a large entertaining deck does not by itself make it appealing to a prospective buyer.  It better also show well.  Remember, buyers are not wanting to make repairs. Get your deck ready before putting your home on the market.

The maintenance factor is the reason we have a vinyl deck. It needs to be powerwashed but that is an easy fix.

I just don't get some of the sellers who can't see that the deck needs a good washing and stain.  It really makes a deck pop when they are cleaned and have a nice coat of stain on them.

Suzanne, I'm just amazed at the number of homes I've seen recently with decks that haven't been maintained. Why spend the money to build a nice deck if you're not going to take care of it?

How true is this! Some foreclosures have decks that are not safe to be on.
