Big changes are happening on AR. Did you all get this letter from Bob? I wonder why no one addressed this. Is Bob leaving AR? You've got to be kidding me, right? Well, I am in shock at the letter I received and you might be too. Read on...

Hi folks! I don't know if you've received this email from Bob Stewart but I did. Maybe it had passed you by and you didn't noticed. Well, I got it and for those who did not receive it I will insert it below for you to read.

Below is a series of letter between Bob and me via email.

Dear Fellow Activeraineers,

This is Bob Stewart. When I first took on the task as head committee of AR, I had hoped to bring comraderie and knowledge under one roof. I believe we have succeeded. Let me take that back, I believe we have far exceeded the expectations. We had started with just a few thousand members and are now over 60k in a short span of time. We are growing at a phenomenal rate.

After much consideration of my time here on AR, it is with deep regret that I have tendered my resignation as head committee of AR. This may come as a shock to all those on Activerain as well as for myself. I don't know how else to say it but it is time for me to move on. My time here on AR has been a humbling experience and I truly appreciate all your friendship and support. The sharing of knowledge among members here is unrivaled in any online networking forum that I've been involved with. This will be my last post. Wishing you all the best.

Sincerely,

Bob

After receiving the letter, here is my response to Bob.

Wed 12/19/07 10:36pm PST

Dear Bob,

I received your letter and I am flabbergasted at your decision to move on. May I ask you a few questions if you don't mind? Please allow me to address my concerns on behalf of those who do not get a chance to respond to you. You left us hanging there at the end of that letter and that piqued my interest. It ended rather abruptly and I am curious to know why the sudden departure. Is it due to the System performance issues we had that slowed down the system on AR? Is it me? I don't think it was my hand in the cookie jar. It wasn't me.

As with all the AR members I've met here, they have all been great and I have enjoyed my time "conversing" with them. You leadership is needed here on AR. There are many supporters for you here. I kid you not. We are deeply saddened by your decision to resign. Please don't go. Is there anything we can do to make you reconsider your decision? Just name it! As you know, the odds of getting hit by lighting is higher than winning the lotto. So, anything but the lotto numbers since we're still trying to figure that one out.

Regards,

Dave

Bob's response to my letter.

Thu 12/20/07 8:52am PST

Dear Dave,

Thank you for your kind concerns. I don't think we've met yet. The decision was not an easy one as you may know. It was a decision not based on personal or professional reasons. And no it was not because of the recent System performance issues. That's a good one but is not the reason. Just to let you know, I have received your email as well as 60k other emails from the AR supporters asking me not to leave. I didn't realized that I was that instrumental here and thank you for the supporting words. So, if there are 60k emails I received, I wondered why there are only about 2k that are actively blogging. Food for thought there.

Well, I have talked it over with my family and friends and will rescind my decision to resign under one condition. You really want to know, don't you? Ok, I am a straight shooter so I let you have it that way without taking too much of your time.

I will remain as head committee of AR under one condition. That condition is as follows. I need the lotto numbers for this weekend's drawing. Ok, I'm just kidding. Here it goes. I would like to have this post by Suzi You Can Make a Difference and it will only cost some time and a little Pain become a FEATURED POST on AR. It deserves some attention as it is a matter of life.

Sincerely,

Bob

My response back to Bob.

Thu 12/20/07 10:18am PST

Dear Bob,

Glad to hear that there is something we can do. I will see what I can do to get the supporters to make this happen. Thank you for reconsidering your decision and giving us a second chance. Our fearless leader is here to stay! As the song from 38 Special goes....."a heart needs a second chance".

On behalf of all Activeraineers, I would like thank you for taking your time to correspond with me via email. We don't want you to leave. I will see what I can do to get the 60k+ supporters here on AR to get Suzi's latest post You Can Make a Difference and it will only cost some time and a little Pain become a FEATURED POST.

Regards,

Dave

 ****************************************************************************************************

Hey FOLKS! We need your help here. We've got to see if we can get this post of Suzi's FEATURED. All you AR blogging kings and queens, spread the word around. What about Bob? He will stay as long as we fulfilled his wishes so let's do it.

Disclaimer: Ok, this was not a real correspondence that occurred between me and Bob. However, the post from Suzi You Can Make a Difference and it will only cost some time and a little Pain is AS REAL AS REAL can be. Go visit her post and let her know that you've acknowledged it. You don't have to mention my name. I'd rather you comment on her post than mine. The exposure is needed as it is a post worth deserving. I don't think she knows I'm doing this. I do not know if Suzi's post would get FEATURED but at the least I gave it my best shot (no pun intended). I was not even planning to write this but it just came out. Please go comment on Suzi's blog post so she knows you care. She needs all the comments she can get.

Thank you

PS. Sorry Bob. I hope you didn't mind me using your name there. I don't believe we know each other but I think you are a great moderator and mediator based on some of the comments I've seen you left throughout AR....bringing peace to the rain.

Got me too - I didn't need another panic attack this close to the holidays :)

Dave, I sure did comment and also asked what blood type is needed. I'm down like James Brown to give blood.

I feel better, knowing that Missy fell for it too. I'm not the only one! :)  yay!!

Ok Dave,

Someone featured her post. I must admit, I was pretty confused as I came across this. I will also say that this is by far the best shot I have ever seen at getting a post featured. Much better than an email with a link saying "I think this is a pretty good one"

I called and left you a message because you are cracking me up. Call me back when you are available. 425.216.2754

I fell for it, and for a while was pretty pissed at myself for being one of the 2k who didn't send Bob an email!  I'm off to check out that post!  You're a bad boy and you might just get a lump of coal for Christmas!

12/20/2007 01:59 PM by Natalie Langford, Winchester, VA Real Estate (Realty Direct of Shenandoah Valley)

Dave - Dude, I was pretty upset thinking about Bob leaving AR.  I guess you got some attention, though.

Dave, you had me going for a minute too!  Glad Bob has come by to comment on your post.  I'll check out Suzi's post right now.

OK,OK,OK, I'll check out Suzi's post.

I seriously think you have way too much time on your hands, you are becoming the king of the long posts.

Very funny, though, Dave D., which is why I read them all the way through. I sniffed out a fake but what the hey, you did all this work....at least I can read it.

12/20/2007 05:02 PM by Bonnie Westbrook Grand Rapids MI Real Estate Marketing (Five Star Real Estate Ada MI)

Cyndee:  Sorry for the false alarm. I didn't really mean to do it. It's Bob's fault. :)

Nick:   Great! Don't worry. I fell for it myself and I'm the writer of the post!

Bob:  Why Bob, it's you! Really, I didn't do this. There is another phantom Bob out there on AR that is using your identity. j/k Alright, I confess. It was me who did this post. It was a long shot and I didn't know what the outcome would be and I'm glad it came out the way it did. It was a pleasure speaking with you today and thank you for getting a laugh out of this. :) You are a great guy and keep up the great work that you are already doing on AR. I want to thank the AR people who were able to get Suzi's post to be a FEATURED POST! Got to go tell Dave the good news. Wait....that's me and you're Bob.....so I guess everything is back to normal now? Welcome back Bob!

Natalie: Yes, I'm a bad boy and that would include Bob too. :) He was my accomplice. Bob, I've got an extra lump of coal. Do you want it? I don't have a fireplace to use it with.

Jason:  Let's say I'm glad Bob is still here. Got a chance to speak with Bob today for the first time.

Brian:  I fooled myself too so don't worry. I'm glad Bob found some humor in this. Mission accomplished and thanks to the good acts of AR. Happy holidays!

Bonnie:  Thanks for stopping by. Bob helped me with this but he won't admit it. Communication is a 2 way street and I merely responded to his email. Ok, I'll take the blame for the long post but I'm not the king of it. Sorry for the false alarm. Bonnie, you've got a good nose to sniff this out. :)

How can I top this? You guys are amazing! Now, I have one favor to ask: Please do not give me points for this blog. Actually, I guess I should contact Active Rain about that, because I am serious, no points for blog, no points for blog comments. Period.

Sociologists could have a field day with Active Rain...

Very witty Dave :)  The end result was worth the efforts you took with this.

Debra:  Ouch! Ok, you can go after Bob now. I think he's waiting his turn. Sorry to get you involved Bob.

Suzi: The AR people are simply amazing. I think they are doing a tremendous job in handling the rapid growth here on AR. You deserve the points. Have a great day!

Kathy: Thanks for dropping by! I took the chance and thanks to the great people at AR to make this come to fruition.

Stella: Me too. I was trying to find that same email in my inbox as well......

Vanessa:  Thanks for checking out Suzi's post!

Suzi: I have no clue what blogfusion is and have not heard of it before. I looked it up in the dictionary and there is no definition for it....

Sally:  Nice to see you here! That's ok...everyone was confused including myself. However, I think we got the "issue" under control thanks to the great effort of the AR people. They worked their magic and got it FEATURED! Wishing you a Merry Christmas as well!

OK, hook line and sinker here. Good post. I probably could have been vulnerable enough to buy that island in the middle of Arizona if you had been selling it. LOL

12/21/2007 10:26 AM by * Rate A Home (Rate A Home)

Dave, I don't believe there is, but if there were I would have probably jumped on the chance to buy it the way I fell for your post above. LOL

12/21/2007 11:04 AM by * Rate A Home (Rate A Home)

Dave you are so funny! Please accept a Big Dose of AgapeO and PhileO from yours truly. Blogfusion shouldn't be in the dictionary because I made it up to work for fused blogs, of which this is the first I have been unwittingly involved in. Cool word, don't you think? AND highly descriptive I might add, though some people will complain, I am sure (It happened when I came out with Negotiabate:-) (Ya have to see that blog, it was one of my few features--I still laugh over that)

Blogfusion could eventually make it to the dictionaries...WE could make it real because we are the invincible Active Rain membership and what we say goes.

Blogfusion: the state a blog reader is in when they have to access another blog to make sense of one blog, or when they try to make sense of a blog without accessing the referred blog. When 2 or more blogs are interdependent on each other.

Please note this is my contribution to the REal world of Blogdom.

What the heck is a goatnut? That was my anti-spam word. Never mind, don't comment on that.

12/21/2007 12:56 PM by Suzi Gravenstuk|Independent Broker| License # 17787 (MGC Realty, LLC)

Duane:  An island in the desert would have been something.

Suzi: That makes sense now. No wonder I couldn't find it. Ok, I must admit it was late at night. No goatnut but what about Blogfission?

12/21/2007 03:24 PM by Dave D, Southern California Real Estate ~San Gabriel Valley (LA) & Orange County (Century 21 Excellence)

Fission is to split, Fusion is to join or unite. Is this what is meant by hijacking a blob?

What the heck is a poha? (my anti-spam word)

12/21/2007 10:40 PM by Suzi Gravenstuk|Independent Broker| License # 17787 (MGC Realty, LLC)

If Bob left...what would we have left? We would only have the right.

12/21/2007 10:56 PM by Mike Norvell Sr., Developers Capital Realty (Developers Capital Realty, LLC)

Suzi: Yup, blogfission occurs when a blog is hijacked. Don't know much about poha though.

Mike: I don't get it. Maybe it is too high and I can't reach it. I'll go get a ladder....

12/22/2007 01:54 AM by Dave D, Southern California Real Estate ~San Gabriel Valley (LA) & Orange County (Century 21 Excellence)

Hi Dave,

You just crack me up....it looks like it worked! LOL! :)

12/22/2007 06:41 AM by Suzanne Sands-Somerset, MA Real Estate (Century 21 Associates Realty)

Dave, YOU HAVE TOO MUCH TIME ON YOUR HANDS!  Yes, I am yelling!  LOL, it was way too long and yes, you had me going all the way to the end.  I am glad I read through the whole thing or I would have missed it.  How are you going to do 10 in 10?  Dude, you are too funny!  But, this is a good cause, I hope people do go and check out Suzi's blog and help Jon Ross.  Take care.

12/22/2007 03:44 PM by REAL ESTATE AMERICA - Ernie Cabrera, CEO

Allison:  :)

Suzanne:  Thank you Bob for being my accomplice!

Ernie:  I tried to call that time management. :) Hey, I'm glad you didn't BOLD face the type font! Thank you for participating and reading it through. Still working on it. I had commented on Suzi's post the night before. The next morning the idea came and I just jotted it down in 20 minutes and submitted it hoping to bring more exposure. I'm glad it worked out thanks to the great people behind the scene on AR. I hope everything will be fine with Jon too.

12/23/2007 12:01 AM by Dave D, Southern California Real Estate ~San Gabriel Valley (LA) & Orange County (Century 21 Excellence)

Dave - as a still relative rookie you had mee 100% but it worked I went to Suzi's site read the blog, and agree that it should be featured. My wife and I give blood regularly and we were due to give last week and couldn't because of a cold, so fate (and faith) does intervine at the most opportune times. I was unclear form her blog though that if we gave through the red cross if it could still be "credited" to her friend Jon Ross. Will check that out before we proceed.
