Really, I stay up till three in the morning - goal setting on what I am going to do next year.  This year I met my goals with flying colors.

I have six little girls, I home-school four of my older girls, I sold $20M this year so far, and I currently have 29 listings with 4 of those under contract.  Yes, I am bragging.  I am proud of myself and I want everyone to know.

I took charge of the market and made it happen.

We are Realtors, we are educated (I think), okay some of us still take classes for the knowledge and not just for the CE and we use what we learn.  Don't we?

The saying "if you can't stand the heat, get of the kitchen works for me.

I repeat "I LOVE MY JOB, I am a REALTOR".  We all need to say it and mean it to the point that negative thoughts don't come to mind.

It's absolutely the sadest moment of my career to hear so many Realtors just give up and become the most damaging blow themselves to our industry.  Don't let the media tell us what our market is.  There are still loans out there, We still have buyers.  Have you asked anyone lately, "ARE THEY LOOKING TO SELL OR BUY A HOME?" Probably not, because the media told you it was a bad market.  Take a look around, we are still in business folks.

There are still loans out there, only difference, some lenders need to be a little more honest in there dealings and provide products that will work out in the long run for our clients.

We are going to have to change the market to a more friendlier market.  Let's stop and smell the roses and lilacs and Christmas trees.  You get what I mean.

Go out tomorrow, okay today, and just ask 10 people if they are looking to buy or sell.  I bet you, someone is looking to buy and someone is looking to sell.

This is our business, let's fix it.  We don't need the feds, we need each other.  BE STRONG MY FRIENDS, BE STRONG!!!!

AMEN, AMEN, AMEN! Yes, we have problems, are other industries having problems? We need to deal with what is in front of us and go on. You have a lot to be proud of Vangie. Now, from one homeschooling mom to another, get some rest and go to bed! LOL!!!

You got it... I am always afraid, i am going to miss something.  This business is addictive, not the money (okay a little about the money), but mainly about the people and the game.

PS You go to bed, too.  How many kids do you homeschool?

I'll holler with you!  I LOVE MY JOB!  I AM A REALTOR(r).
Seriously - I do love this business.  I love people, I love houses.  I love putting people in houses!
And yes... I do ask folks if they know anyone that ready to buy or sell a house.

The thing that I have consistantly heard from busy agents is PERSISTANCE.  Don't give up so easily.  Go to the mall, when you buy something, give the cashiers two of your business cards.  Give the bagger two cards, give the baggage handler at the airport tow cards, give your postman two business cards.  You get the point.

Everybody knows somebody who is in need of real estate or lending assistance.

I know of several Realtors who have gotten into the lending side to do refinances

I adore your post! I feel the same way. December has been one of my busiest months all year, and this year has been great. Next year will be even better. Love, love this business! I read an agent's tagline the other day -- she called herself a multi-million dollar producer. Heck, if you're a mouth breather, you're a multi-million dollar producer in my market. It's not that hard.

Elizabeth exactly.  I am busy as heck.  I don't get why so many aren't.  This guy Sam us saying that he thinks all new agents should pay $10K to NAR to separate the serious agents from the not so serious.  I think he's a little green.

Check out what Sam is saying at http://activerain.com/blogsview/314174/NAR-SHOULD-INSTITUTE-AN

I JUST LOVE these kick in the pants posts! I wish half the agents around thought like you. It drives me nuts to see everyone just buying into the media's BS and giving up! Stay strong and rock on in 08!

Great post! Congratulations on being a Super Mommy and Super Realtor in 2007. Sounds like you are on track to keep 2008 awesome too! I just came across your blog and I will mark it and come back often to see what new tips you have to offer.

I love my career too and it really helps in getting referrals from people because everyone knows how much I love all things Real Estate. I don't know of another career that I could juggle my family time, and personal time still have an opportunity for a wonderful and rewarding career.

p.s. If you have any referrals in the Southern MD area outside of your service area I would be happy to help them as well. I am in Calvert County and service all of Southern MD.
