A Politically Correct Holiday Wish

Santa Claus blow-up decorationThis was passed along to me through several channels so I cannot attribute credit to the creator.

But I thought it was kinda humorous in the efforts to be politically correct, even if it goes a bit overboard.

Not everyone celebrates Christmas, but I do and I thought this photo was fun. :)

UPDATE: Apparently this greeting has been floating around the Internet quite a bit, and for some time. I found references for it all over the place. Still don't know the originator, though.

**************************************

Dear All,

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere . Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

*********************************************

My best wishes to all of you for a healthy, safe and enjoyable holiday season with friends and family, and a Happy New Year. Here's to an excellent 2008!!

Jeff

That's very funny. I've often wondered about the people who work so hard to remove religion (specifically Christianity) from everything, yet I've never heard anyone mention the calendar years. Do they not know or do they forget what the BC and AD stand for?
