Spring Has Sprung in Green Cay!

While I love walking year round at Green Cay Wetlands in Boynton Beach, spring is my favorite time of year there.

WHY?

Take a Look!


Green Cay Wetlands


It’s not just about the walking..... but about the hunt!   No... no guns or bows and arrows.... the hunt for nests.   The signs have been there for weeks.  Red-Winged Blackbirds have been seen flying with long blades of grass or twigs in their beaks.  To find the nest, all you have to do is follow their path with your eyes.  If you’re lucky, the nest will be close enough to the boardwalk to get a good look.

Common Moorhens build their nests closer to the water.   And some prefer the tops of trees.

And just for Easter... look what this marsh hare was kind enough to do....

Michael- i used to rely on having my smartphone but now always have my camera with me. 

Ed- we are so lucky to have great weather and lots of activities to do outdoors.

Bliz- I have a friend visiting her daughter in Cincinnati this weekend and hope she has some good weather.

Dorie- that marsh hare was so cooperative.  As soon as I stopped and pointed my camera at him, he put on a show for me. 

Joanna- the fun is just beginning.  More nests and babies to come.

Scott- Our spring can be almost overlooked because we go from our winter weather of a high in the 70's to one in the 80's.  

Janis- gators to come later!  I hope to get another nest like I did last year.

Ellen- I love those eggs!  We didn't dye any this year so yours have taken their place.

Jennifer- I've been trying to catch a bobcat (with my camera) but no luck.  They're there, I just haven't been in the right place.

Sharon-  I contacted the folks at Disney!  (just kidding)
